  1. I definitely disagree. It's most likely not a black and white issue. Regardless, they are not in a position where the only option is to get rid of him. No, black was get rid of him, white was either keep him or get rid of him. :?
  2. Born June 27, 1970. He's getting old.
  3. What do you have against the 3rd base coach? If anything, get him a lawnchair. He's got to be lonely as hell for half the game.
  4. He said he feels about 60% right now. He messed up his back. Maybe if he quit hitting so many homeruns his back wouldn't hurt so much and Cub fans would think he's classier. Maybe if Cub pitchers would allow a few more home runs, Derrek Lee wouldn't be involved in collisions at first base that disable him for two months. Judges? http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2004/10/31/moore_wideweb__430x340.jpg
  5. Believe me, I've thought of it. They're producing at roughly the same clip right now, and I for one do not believe Kenny is done. He could have been had for 2-3 mil less than Slap ReallyNasty, and it wouldn't have cost us 3 players to get him.
  6. But the baserunning, Vance. Think of the baserunning. After watching Jacque Jones run the bases, we would be better off with Moises in RF. Maybe, but let's not forget what a butcher Moises was in the OF. I do miss his bat, though. Exactly. How he hasn't ended up a DH is a mystery to me.
  7. Gould doesn't even know how to spell his last name. Either that, or he can't pronounce his own last name.
  8. I think it's pretty ridiculous that people have a problem with this thread. No one is starting threads everyday documenting when Corey struggles. But this is simply an incredibly stupid play by Corey Patterson and it's worth mentioning. What if the subject in question was Moises? Would anyone be as defensive?
  9. He's uncoachable. Remember?
  10. You're holding off judgement until after this weekend? If you're not convinced by now, you're either not paying attention or you never will be.
  11. I think Albert is an amazing baseball talent, but I don't have to care at all about him as a person. I reserve those judgements for people in my life that I actually know and interact with. He plays a game for a rival, and I do not like him because of that.
  12. How do you know Corey isn't "kicking himself"? Too much muscle in the legs. He lost some flexibility.
  13. I'd prefer LAA, just to get him out of the NL.
  14. There were players available in trade and via free agency that would have made the team better. If the Cubs wouldn't have blown the Sosa scandal into a full blown media circus, they could have improved the team. Floyd, JD Drew, Ordonez, Beltran, the list goes on and on of players that were available after the Cubs dumped Moises. That they chose to go with Hollandsworth and later Dubois isn't the fault of the fans who are glad Moises is gone. Neither of those two were OUR choices as Moises replacement. I was pretty sure it was going to be Floyd AND Ordonez.
  15. But the baserunning, Vance. Think of the baserunning. I try to forget.
  16. Dude you could totally tell by Corey's body language that he didn't even care. Pierre cares when he gets picked off. He said so in the paper this morning. That's cuz of his bad attitude and cuz he can't be coached.
  17. Hill is overvalued by Cubdom.
  18. As a Cubs fan, I take offense to that. It's NEVER too early to give up on the season.
  19. The Cubs DON'T NEED A SOLUTION at first. What they need is somebody who play the position well-enough say.....260/.330/.440 with some power, and provide solid D---not a guy who would replace Lee. Hoffpair or Sing COULD surprise people if given the opportunity. Giving them an opportunity is better then letting another organization try and rip you off. Don't need a solution? You're advocating bringing up new bodies because of a problem. Bringing them up defines the word "solution". Neither are at a point where they show any signs of being capable of handling a major league job. Hoffpauir was overmatched at AAA last year, and Sing hasn't exactly been a world beater. I'm not asking for someone to win the job over Lee.
  20. Only if we don't score 7.
  21. I like the updated thread title better. At least he's playing solid defense. He isn't doing much of anything with the bat.
  22. We must be watching 2 different Cubs teams, cuz I think this one is always unfun to watch.
  23. No, Ramirez is part of the problem. Big difference. Prior to Lee's injury, they were scoring more than 5 runs a game. Now, they're struggling to get more than ZERO. Unless Aramis can make up all those runs himself, he can't be singled out.
  24. At hitting Home Runs? At being a walking crash n' burn without trying I sort of miss him. That piece where he was interviewing someone and asked about a mutual friend, only to be told "um....Joe, he's dead" was incredible. I about died myself  He asked Jim McMahon about Pete Rozelle.
