    You're fooling yourself if you think it's a temporary problem. With or without Lee, they have a crap bench. They need all the help they can get in that department. They've spent all their energy trying to find versatile bench players, meanwhile, they haven't bothered finding a bench player that can hit worth a lick. I don't care if a guy can only play 1B defensively, they still need bats, desperately. I agree, but would Clark waive his no-trade clause to come to Chicago to sit on the bench? The question should be, would he waive the clause to come to Chicago to start for 2 months, then become a spot starter for Lee as he comes back from a very serious injury and be the primary threat off the bench. And why wouldn't he? Unless Jackson gets hurt, he's pretty much guaranteed to see more PT here than there.

    Ugly. In a hitter's park, no? Is he traditionally a slow starter? 2003-2005 splits show April to be his lowest OPS month at 722. He is at 813 overall during those years.

    I'm not comparing them to the Cubs. With that pitching staff (especially the pen), Cincinnati has perhaps the biggest "bottom falling out" potential of any team who's bottom hasn't already fallen out. I know we keep saying their pitching stinks, but it hasn't happened yet. Does anyone have pitching stats for current Cubs and Reds?     Randall Simon BandWGN anyone? I liked Randall and the enthusiasm (and mojo) he brought to the club. It appeared as though nobody had fun until he showed up. They finally showed passion the last 6 weeks or so of the season, and I think Randall deserves a lot of credit for that. I wanted him back as the 25th man just for that alone. But in terms of being an everyday player, Randall was not so hot. Great cheerleader, lukewarm player.

    I have seen this alot lately, do you honestly think our offensive problems are just because DLee's not playing? I agree, he is a difference maker, but his being absent isn't the only reason the Cubs suck at the plate. True, but taking out 46 HR's and 100 RBIs REALLY hurts this average line-up. Throw the farm at Florida. And it was average at best with him in it.

    Maybe they are being truthfull and will actually tell their producers that Cubs fans are getting fed up with their crap, but I doubt it. They didn't even address your concerns/questions. They saw "Joe Morgan sucks" and feebly attempted to ease your pain. Weasels.
