  1. What I'm saying is, don't get pissed if my team isn't fully active in May. Theo himself couldn't turn this [expletive] around in fewer than a couple seasons.
  2. Yeah I broke the rules to check out my team. What the [expletive]? I can't promise I'll be fully engaged for too long this year as this is really a pathetic mess for a keeper team. I'll admit to not having the depth of knowledge of prospects outside the cubs org that I had when I had more free time which puts me at a disadvantage, but I don't recognize several 'prospects' on my team. Was this team built to dominate in 2005 and just left unchanged for the sake of nostalgia? I'm interested in the league but I don't know that I have the time and knowledge to fix this team esp given what appear to be incredibly complex rules (e.g., if there's a max starts # why is there a limit to when you can adjust your roster?). I'dvhave to dig up gems deep in the draft, which is unlikely given that many of you have a hell of a lot more prospect knowledge than I do. And I have no players of value so unless someone wants Hamilton, making a trade for draft picks or prospects isn't likely anyway.
  3. Wait, we can share players? My team is looking better already. Put me down for Lincecum and Halladay. I'll work out the rest tonight.
  4. My entire team is on the trading block. By which I mean I will gladly swap rosters with anyone else.
  5. I'm out March 14-18 with limited time for this, so starting March 1 would be good for me too.
  6. I'd be happy with what was proposed. I expected I'd have a time to work on the roster since I offered to take over a team about a month ago. So that would be helpful. Full disclosure though, this isn't something I'm going to be able to complete in a couple of days. I haven't even seen my full roster, let alone what they did last year, nor who the FAs are. So I need to do all that, figure out the rules and scoring, and then negotiate deals. If the group isn't willing to give me at least 10 days or so to do that, that's ok, its up to the commish/group. But if not, its not worth discussing bc I can't reasonably do it much quicker, given that I can't access the site from ~7am-7pm during the week.
  7. Crap. So I can't trade for any of the guys that people were offering and ultimately dumped for nothing? This is like a rebuilding project that can't start until after the next season ends. I'll wade thru the rules and try to pare down my roster but it will probably take a few days.
  8. So is the trade deadline past since rosters had to be set today?
  9. I see this forum so I assume you tracked me down. Thanks. What do you need from me?
  10. Yeah, Jed's already said that was the plan. That plan could easily change though. Outside of his agent and his immediate family, no one wants Lahair as the opening day starter if they have a better in house option. Unless starting him allows the club to keep Rizzo in AAA.
  11. Dayne will lead you to the promised land.* *5 wins
  12. Yeah you are. I think I speak for all of us that this off season has been crap. Anyone disagree? No he's not. What is it about the Marlins making a low ball offer that makes our off season worse?
  13. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/stewart_mandel/02/10/bcs-playoff-strength-of-schedule/index.html Interesting article about various factors under consideration for the playoff discussion.
  14. BK just said the new OL coach comes very highly recommended from Ferentz. And it sounds like there was a lot of disagreement with Warinner about the offense. Really liking that switch now. ETA - Hiestand came from Tenn, not Iowa, but Ferentz called him one of the best OL coaches he's been around.
  15. Sherlock might be in some deep [expletive].
  16. It separates union bay and portage bay, you dope.
  17. UW is surrounded by mountains and not technically on the coast. I smell realignment.
  18. Taking the names out of it, the Big East is still pretty stupid while the Big Ten makes perfect sense. I don't get it. The Big Ten is a conference that makes sense, in that it is made of a group of midwester schools that all play the same sports in the same conference. The Big East is a clusterpuck of epic proportions. Oh. Ok, yeah, the big east is just trying to survive. I'm not sure it'll be successful.
  19. Taking the names out of it, the Big East is still pretty stupid while the Big Ten makes perfect sense. I don't get it.
  20. Hard for big 10 folks to complain that a conference title is less than accurate.
  21. Sorry must have gotten this confused with your re-occurring incredibly complex computer issues.
  22. Unless you're the 2012 Crimson Tide Is your goal to make this point on every page of this thread?
  23. If people were that hard up for violence wouldn't they be watching hockey, which is faster and bloodier? No cheerleaders. Seriously, there are guys, esp at the top of the NFL target age, for whom cheerleaders are still a big deal. These guys grew up when naked women were not a simple GIS away. No cheerleaders aren't the primary reason for the NFL's popularity, but time of the week, time of the year, and violence are very very much so. And cheerleaders fit very nicely with that mix. Fine, but what is the point of all this again? Who cares if there are cheerleaders or the NFL has violence in it? Edit: and I don't mean I don't care about the effects of violence, but it's on every prime time TV show everywhere. So is sex. I'm not sure why this would become an issue specific to NFL discussion. Cheerleaders was a total throw away add on to the list of factors that increase the popularity of the NFL other than the in-field product.
