  1. Rumors getting crazy around ND. Something about a fallout between Kiel and LSU that could land him back at ND this week (in time to still EE, even though maybe a couple days after classes start). Also Armstead set to announce this morning, then news that Cal's DL coach up and went to UW. Armond spent last night at ND with his dad; rumors that both may be at ND this week.
  2. Turns out Warinner isn't even going to call plays at OSU, as the ISU OC that Meyer brought in was told he gets that role. So he basically has the same job he had at ND, only with a co-coordinator title. He probably moves on again in 1-2 years, looking for that coveted play-calling role.
  3. Meyer is going to poach kids from other midwest schools in his time at OSU. If Meyer didn't poach 2 ND coaches, he probably doesn't have a shot with Decker. Decker is a nice player, but he's not a huge loss, relatively speaking. ND has solid OL depth, and with Kelly's recruiting to profile, it's easier to convert other OL or DL to OT to fill gaps. Plus ND has a stud OT verbal commit for next year already in the mix. The bigger hit from Meyer, imo, is Neal apparently loving his OSU visit. He'll likely land there. That's the kind of playmaker on offense Kelly needs. Meyer running the spread at OSU gives us another midwest school to compete for those players.
  4. I'm treymon and I'm here to crap on everyone's cheerios. Bring back treeman
  5. by everything, i mean nothing
  6. and that changes everything
  7. He's versatile in that he sucks in a lot of ways. Excellent was the more questionable adjective to me.
  8. Pineda was fun to watch. Little bummed to see him go.
  9. forgot to divide by two. My calculation included inside info re the signing of Kerry Wood.
  10. That would be a huge get, if you can convince him to play OT and not DT it would be even better. I've been thinking he would eventually end up at Cal, but he seems set on checking out the entire country. I think Cal may lead for Arik but the chance to play with his brother may be enough. Agreed on OL and maybe after a year or two he'll agree. But he seems to want to stay in BB shape, which he can't do as an OL. Some think he'd be a great DE in the 3/4, so who knows. Cal does lead for Arik but I've heard they want to play together. One person I know who is generally reliable seems to think Armstead can transfer to Auburn and play right away. That's the most confusing part to me. But isn't the Masoli rule in effect? I'd read that the SEC even reminded ADs after the season that transfers must have at least 2 years of eligibility remaining. Maybe the injury year last year gives him the possible request for a 6th year which would be an exception?
  11. More than 12 hours? I find that a touch hard to believe unless he's been charged and it hasn't been publicized (which is also hard to believe).

  13. The Armstead brothers are going to Auburn today, but the dad and Armond are cutting the trip short to fly to ND on Sunday. Hearing mixed reports, but most of them (and my understanding) was that the Masoli rule wouldn't allow Armstead to transfer from USC to Auburn after graduating this year, so his only choices, of Arik's top 5, appear to be ND and the NFL. USC won't release him to the Pac 12. So if the brothers want to play together 1 year, they'd have to go to ND.
  14. I can't wait for DGB to bust
  15. what the [expletive] 33 hr in 66 games. Hahaha
  16. I remember he was a career college coach and part of that staff of "teachers" Lovie originally, and unsuccessfully, put together. He should be competent enough to coach the line on ND though. His performance looks pretty solid at most stops. And I read that every one of 12 starters at Illinois during his time play or played in the NFL (no idea if that's true, but have seen it now several times).
  17. ND hired Tennessee's (former Bears) OL coach. Getting mixed reviews, I think bc he isn't god (not the god, but one of the lesser ones).
  18. Agreed. I think trading Garza makes sense if you get your socks knocked off, including a near-ready top prospect like Turner. I don't think too many (any) folks here are advocating dumping Garza for a bunch of lotto tix bc some ace will be available.
  19. I guess I don't disagree, but I'm kind of surprised you put so much stock in that. It's not like he was pitching in an empty Miller Park this year, but I suppose our media could easily break him. He's white. Just have him wear eye black and a dirty uniform.
  20. Ivan Rodriguez has been traded in the middle of the season twice. Mike Piazza was traded in the middle of the season twice, in the same season. We acquired Jason Kendall in the middle of a pennant race. Those are just off the top of my head. See, I completely forgot about those. It's not every year you can get Jason Kendall for the stretch run.
