  1. I'm not watching either again to make that determination, but this one has more force coming down because he got taken out on an alley oop. The Louisville broken leg went through the skin, but tonight Hayward's ankle was just literally hanging off to the side. Both were just horrible. Who took Hayward out accidentally? It was Robin Ventura foot facing the wrong direction awful.
  2. People who don't understand advanced metrics are endlessly frustrating. I just spent 20 minutes explaining to a Cards fan why Molina likely won't get into the HOF using Ozzie Smith as a comparison point and the idiot still didn't understand how enormous the gap between what Ozzie did defensively vs. what Molina has done on top of the fact that Molina has a larger negative career offensive value on top of it. This was after the 60 something to 35 WAR discussion was already done because he was all "but defense". Morons.
  3. This isn't doing crap until KB pulls his head out of his ass long enough to actually make contact with a couple pitches. Not having him on base constantly is a huge problem along with Javy being completely lost right now.
  4. I don't think it can be emphasized enough that Javy got 2 outs in the bottom of the 4th that not many other humans get. He's so ridiculous.
  5. Yeah, even the pick last week wasn't that bad. He took a calculated risk and didn't quite put the ball where he wanted. He's certainly not afraid to try to make a play and he's got the skills to do it in a lot of cases. The quality of the running game is certainly making his life easier than it would be if he didn't have it combined with the awful receivers.
  6. Yeah, the escape and throw on 3rd and 11 is a flash of what could be. Mobile, good vision, and a strong as hell arm to make that throw without his feet underneath him.
  7. I had a buddy bitching about him too and said nearly the exact same thing. He's fun. Probably overboard arguing with the reporter after the game but whatever.
  8. Well that's an unfortunate way to give up a TD if it stands.
  9. So, Lackey to pitch the 7th? I don't trust anyone at this point.
  10. Mine turns sports on and watches them with me. It's pretty great, except for the Packer and Cardinal fandom.
  11. Not sure I like Jay in right with his noodle arm, but I like everything else about that.
  12. That was a helluva game to watch in person. The tension was so thick and got worse with every pitch Chapman threw.
  13. I was chatting with a buddy last night who is pretty left politically and was rage hating on Murphy. And then I informed him of his weirdo far right stances that he wasn't aware of and hilarity ensued. I hate that dude so much and you just know he was pissing and moaning about the Jay slide when he's done significantly worse.
  14. That seems like a pretty reasonable and well thought out explanation and the fact that there's a reference to the umpire's judgement written in the rule (even though not directly applicable to this situation) seems like there's definitely room for interpretation there. I'd be pissed if I was on the other end, but I kind of feel like the baseball gods owed the Cubs that one after the postponement of game 4.
  15. No Braves game 5 2003?
  16. That horsefeathers eating grin at very end.
  17. I think Q is good to go for game 1 and Lester threw ~60 pitches yesterday and should be okay for game 2 I would think.
  18. http://gifimage.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/why-not-both-animated-gif-7.gif
  19. I think Matheny has lost some of the players. he's still got the whites I almost added something about Dex and Pham but was too lazy to look for actual quotes so I didn't.
  20. Farrell had lost the players if Pedroia's comments were any indication. Matheny may have lost the fans, but I don't think he's lost his players. I think Matheny has lost some of the players.
  21. That conversion was cool AF.
  22. Yeah, I can't be too upset with the defense when there's literally 1 guy out there who can play the position and he's pretty inexperienced.
