    I've seen some stuff on Twitter recently about excessive bunting but have no idea other than those couple data points. I felt like he was a slightly above average manager in his year with the Cubs.

    Anyone having issues with the Cubs feed on mlbtv? This is the second straight game I've gotten error messages when I try to watch and every other game and feed I've tried works fine.

    Yep. That Game 7 lead off homer was a pretty huge moment. That alone puts him on a list of guys I'd have a real hard time having any ill will toward.

    I love the fact that they were talking about how a few homeruns Cueto has given up in Wrigley before the game and he proceeds to give up three in the first four innings.

    I haven't seen any really egregious mistakes outside of that dropped foul ball the other day and the bad overthrow to 2nd. He's definitely not Adam Dunn or Matt Adams out there.

    This is the Cards local broadcast. FS1 apparently is using home team broadcasts for now. He's not great, but he's light years better than Hrabosky, Rick Horton, or any of the other clowns they use.

    Edmonds was actually really horsefeathering good defensively before he got old, narratives about intentionally making catches look spectacular aside. Oh I know, I feel like he probably falls into the category of being a little less athletic/quick as other guys, like you laid out with Almora. He didn't have great speed/range which forced him into having to get extra good jumps/reads and make a lot of running/diving plays. He always played shallow as hell too and that contributed to the highlight reel nature of a lot of his catches.

    Hasn't he been doing that all season? I thought it was intentional. He has and they were talking about it on MLB network recently. His arm slot is lower and his front foot is noticeably more toward 3rd base as well. All that combined with the velocity drop tells me he's either hurt or attempting to remake his delivery a bit to add some longevity. Considering he's now throwing more across his body, I doubt it's a delivery remake.

    last season the cubs didn't lose their 15th game until this April You want to take another stab at that?

    A ton of rain all day, cold, flooding everywhere with multiple road closures, and to top it off they moved the game to a night game instead of a day game. I'll give them a pass on attendance tonight. I did not know that Yeah, it's a nightmare south and southwest of the metro area. I-55 and I-44 both reopened early this morning after being closed for several days.
