  1. That plus the fact that the QO with the signing team losing a pick tied to it sounds like it's going away makes the likelihood of him cashing in with a better deal for himself next even better, as you said, assuming the performance is there again next year.
  2. So they want to sign him to...get revenge on us? http://chicagocubsonline.com/archives/2016/11/report-cardinals-make-play-dexter-fowler.php Bowden is a moron, but Mozeliak certainly isn't. If he goes after Dex, it'll be because he's useful to them and have nothing to do with emotions or revenge. It's hard to fathom guys like Bowden got to run front offices as recently as the last couple years.
  3. If he really does have a torn labrum, Long needs to just sit out the rest of the year and get the surgery done now. He'll be in much better shape to potential actually help the team if he's fully healthy at the beginning of next year. And I know from experience that that surgery is no joke.
  4. I just finished watching game five and now I'm watching a game six replay on MLBN. This is a much more pleasant listen with Vasgersian and Martinez calling the game instead of Buck and Smoltz.
  5. Yep. And I still keep getting a little choked up every time I see the final play.
  6. He wasn't nearly as restricted on a per game basis as he was in 2015. The whole rotation was limited in total innings by design and while he didn't miss any turns through the rotation, the innings total was definitely affected by the 6 man rotation and skipping/pushing guys back when possible. I don't think you'll see much limiting within games where PC isn't an issue, but you'll see the same strategy of limiting total innings on the season so guys have bullets left for the playoffs. It certainly worked out this year.
  7. PM me your PayPal info and let me know how much shipping is to 62034 if you have any left.
  8. Estimates at 5 million right now.
  9. I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. And man, you couldn't ask for a better guy to be the face of the franchise than Rizzo. He's perfect.
  10. Miggy is seriously just the best.
  11. The camera work on the Javy HR was particularly awesome.
  12. My aunt just posted this to Facebook. My grandparents memorial now has the biggest W flag ever flying on it. So many feels.

  14. If that hadn't just happened last night, right now I'd be wishing that you got hit by a bus today.
  15. Best decision I made was listening to the radio broadcast instead of Smoltz and Buck. That was a much more satisfying experience.
  16. lol, filter broke the link. Maybe try a url shortener? It's working for me.
  17. If there's one guy I really wish could have seen this, it's Santo. This team was everything to him and it just sucks he didn't get to see his own HOF induction or this. RIP Ron.
  18. This is the absolute cherry on top of the whole thing. Holy horsefeathers that's terrific!
  19. For a journeyman like him, how ridiculously amazing is it to hit a home run in your final career AB in game 7 of the World Series.
  20. I was keeping it together pretty well this morning until I watched that.
  21. That is just amazingly, pure, unadulterated joy and I love it!
  22. Wow. I'm still, I don't even know, in shock? What a series, what a game, what a team.
  23. I expected this to be incredibly difficult, but they certainly made it as gut wrenching as possible. World horsefeathering series champions!!!!!
  24. Guys,I've been watching this team religiously since the summer I turned 8 in 1984 watching Sandberg,Dernier, Sutcliffe, Matthews, Cey, Moreland, Davis and the rest of that crew. My grandfather passed away in 2004 and I pulled out his memorial card so I could watch with him the last few innings. I'm crying like a baby and I love the horsefeathers out of all of you. Lastly, for Fred!
