1. Definitely seemed like over managing by Tito. Although I guess he may have been thinking about Tomlin getting to the 3rd time through the order.
2. We've definitely had the better of the strike zone tonight so far.
3. Thanks ump. Pretty sure that wasn't a strike but I'll take it.
4. He's one of those chubby short guys and reminds me of a Reds catcher that always seems to kill us.
5. Highest OPS, Minimum 40 postseason PA: Schwarber 1.274 Next highest 1.215 Ruth and Gehrig were both on the list below that.
6. Seriously, if he gets cleared to play the field, this is a 30 for 30 for the ages. Just unreal.
7. I was telling people at work today that Bauer is the kind of guy the Cubs abuse and he'd be lucky to get through 5. Glad to see I was right. Their pen will be in shambles by the end of game 4. This game went about as well as it could have.
8. Probably for Kipnis and Lindor, then maybe CJ for one and Chapman for the 9th.
9.
10. Hope they also cross home plate this half inning. Yeah, I just kinda want to get this over with and not have to jack around with the rain.
11. If you told me before the game we'd get 5 2/3 out of Jake with only 1 run, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat.
12. They did. He pinch ran for Soler after he walked last inning OOps. Can I still blame FOX even though I didn't notice? Personally, I'd blame your user name.
13. They need innings. He's got 70 total pitches right? He can get them an inning tonight and probably 2-3 more depending on efficiency.
14. If you're looking at it like that, Javy shouldn't have been on base.
15. Solid ABs. The 3rd inning should yield some nice results. Hopefully Jake can find the zone here.
16. Robot umps being imperfect /= Robot umps not being better than human umps That sounds exactly like something a robot would say. :-k
17. What I learned from this game is that we're not ready for robot umps. The strike/ball graphs I'm seeing on top of the K zone from Fox last night tell me that the technology isn't good enough yet to be reliable. The overhead camera shots that Fox was showing that clearly indicated pitches weren't in the zone and were called strikes aren't coming up any differently in the data sets. Maybe more consistently incorrect, but certainly not any more accurate than the umps are.
18. Any chance you mods have looked to see if our buddy bigred has a familiar IP address?
19. Issue: Lester gets borderline (very close) call Kluber gets call 4 inches outside to whiff Bryant Same? http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h184/soccer10k/Bryant.png Which one was called 4 inches outside? Strikes 2 and 5 were both swung at. If that's from the AB in the first, it's just wrong.
20. Man, I really think that early bad strike to Bryant messed them up. That hurts a team like the Cubs a lot as disciplined as they are. Forced them to expand the zone early and they've just struggled. Kluber has been fantastic, but not quite as good as the numbers look.
