  1. I think Matheny has lost some of the players. he's still got the whites I almost added something about Dex and Pham but was too lazy to look for actual quotes so I didn't.
  2. Farrell had lost the players if Pedroia's comments were any indication. Matheny may have lost the fans, but I don't think he's lost his players. I think Matheny has lost some of the players.
  3. That conversion was cool AF.
  4. Yeah, I can't be too upset with the defense when there's literally 1 guy out there who can play the position and he's pretty inexperienced.
  5. Because you always take the points this early in the game.
  6. Pretty sure there was at least as much contact on that TD by the TE as there was on the OPI on the Bears.
  7. BS penalties and stupidity. Seems about right.
  8. You spelled awful wrong.
  9. Helluva performance by Price in relief, especially after 36 pitches in game 2. 4 scoreless after Pomeranz pooped on himself early.
  10. The Brewer and Cardinal trolling in that is excellent.
  11. Yep, pitching was clearly their fatal flaw this year. I become more convinced by the day that Luhnow was the brains of the operation and Mozeliak just happened to be in the right place at the right time to get the credit for the run they had.
  12. Agreed, but Hendricks should go first.
  13. Agreed Hopefully it costs them Weaver or Reyes but they'll probably find a way to get him for Piscotty and Kelly or something stupid. Giving up Kelly would still be a significant loss for them. And it would virtually guarantee that Molina gets the majority of the paying time until the end of his contract, which I'd be completely fine with because he's bad now.
  14. I'd deal with Sealboy's defense and get him in somewhere Good point. Zobrist/Jay/Heyward OF, Bryant/Russell/LaStella/Rizzo INF, Avila catching is probably what I’d do. Schwarbs/Happ seem to struggle with velo and Happ (tho many do) with Scherzer’s breaking stuff. I was just going to mention the velocity thing. It seems like the consensus is that La Stella handles it pretty well so it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he was in the lineup game 1. Didn't Joe do that last year too at one point?
  15. Holy crap! I don't know where to begin! Need a little help... do we go with the meatbally "I'd rather have Piscotty over Bryant" route? Or can we just go straight to the Cards fan with a swastika on his neck? That one seems too easy. How about the fact that Bush stadium was empty of Cardinal fans after the 7th inning last night. They hung around until the end of the 8th but then there was a mass exodus that allowed me to get down front for the post game shenanigans.
  16. This is exactly where I'm at. I have a feeling those numbers are a bit of a paper tiger for that reason.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] That was fun last night. Cardinals fans were sooooo mad. And there was an extra grumpy dude sitting near me who bitched when Cubs fans cheered an then proceeded to yell about the worst possible outcome for every player that came to the plate. Pretty sure he needed a hug.
  18. I'm going to the game tonight, so win you buttholes.
  19. Edmonds was doing the color commentary for the Cards broadcast last night and did a little breakdown of Heyward at the point of contact with the ball that I thought was interesting. The essence was that he's not staying down low enough at contact and that's a big reason for all the 4-3s.
  20. I'm going to essentially ignore this year for him because of his mom's battle with ALS. I can only imagine how much of an effect that might have on your performance. He may not get any better, but I don't think this year is a fair appraisal of his talent.
  21. While there's a lot of hyperbole in that post, it's not an idea completely without merit. He's essentially limited to first base anymore because his arm isn't very good and his range has always been iffy. Combine that with the fact that they don't really have a good middle of the order bat that could probably most easily be found from some other guy who plays first and it's not a crazy thought to have.
  22. I'm still just in awe of how ridiculous this run was. He blew by guys, set them up for cutbacks and just made them look so dumb. [tweet] [/tweet]
  23. Does Quintana get to finish this? I'm not totally against it with the current state of the bullpen, but I'm not sure I want him going past 110 this late in the season.
  24. Yeah, I don't know how anyone in their right mind can even remotely justify continuing to support and Glennon as the starter for this team.
