  1. It's a weird thing. It was awful for me first thing in the morning but was fine once I got loosened up. And it wasn't every day either. Not that I was trying to play pro baseball, but I was running 50+ miles a week at the time.
  2. No, a calendar week is from Sunday - Sunday. Saying "in a week" would count back 7 days from whichever point you are currently. Yeah, I'm pretty sure this week covers that. Calendar week is dumb.
  3. Is a calendar week a thing? Isn't it just a week? And they've only won one game this week. I'm so confused.
  4. Because the entirety of Cardinal fandom (BFIB Nation as I like to call them) has a weird obsession with how celebrated Ross was/is. They have no understanding that we, as a fanbase, totally didn't take any of it seriously and it was a novelty. They truly seem to believe he's seen as one of the most beloved Cubs of all time. It's really, really weird.
  5. McCarthy is just great. [tweet] [/tweet]
  6. I love him so.
  7. I went to the Cards Braves game Sunday and he was at first base. I pointed him out before the game and damned if he didn't blow an obvious call on a not so close play. Fortunately it got reversed, but he's just so predictably bad. Him, West, and Bucknor all need to go.
  8. He even homered the next night too.
  9. He's stealthily emerged as the biggest creep with this one, and that's with the stiff competition of Lackey looking like he showed up wearing his usual Sunday best and Happ coming the closest to a genuine smile he's shown so far (probably because his "leather" vest is actually made out of skin). That no sleeves look with just the vest makes me think this isn't the first time Happ has worn a get up like this.
  10. .258/.338/.561 since being called back up. Come on Duke, he's not even OPSing .900!!!111!!!
  11. didn't even mention what the dodgers actual odds are lmao [tweet] [/tweet] I posted it in the Darvish thread, but his math is also wrong on the followed by part.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] Apparently math is hard too. [tweet] [/tweet]
  13. Yes, The Cubs paid more because Quintana is better and more durable. And durable probably being the bigger factor of the two.
  14. This dude is an idiot, but his trolling of the Cards fanbase is terrific. [tweet] [/tweet]
  15. Jay is a decent outfielder, he just throws like Juan Pierre.
  16. Derrick Goold and various twitter responders were getting quite upset at Willson after his homer yesterday. Apparently he kissed his bicep? Huh, interesting. Goold is usually pretty reasonable when it comes to that stuff and definitely is in the make baseball fun again group.
  17. It seems to be a committee situation with a lean towards Rosenthal at the moment, but I'm not sure Matheny could articulate what his plan really is.
  18. Tons of swing and miss but then again, Tommy Pham has a 140 wRC+ this year after spending parts of 11 seasons in the minors. So you know this guy is the next Judge. Eh, Pham has an eye thing and is blind some days and can see great others. He's gonna be a tough guy to figure out. Plus he's been various kinds of injured over the years.
  19. Oh, it's been glorious down here. The BFIB outrage has been absolutely terrific.
  20. Somebody tell me why this Tyler O'Neill cat isn't good so I can crush Cards fans hopes and dreams? Too much swing and miss? Not enough OBP?
  21. I make several million less dollars than he does annually and I still have a personal phone even though I have an iPhone from work. There's just too many personal things I don't want my employer knowing about me.
  22. [attachment=0]IMG_2672.PNG[/attachment]
  23. I would assume this is in deference to Lester's preference to get back on to a normal rest schedule after getting 7 days rest over the ASB, while saving Quintana's arm a little after he had WBC innings this spring. I'd bet it has more to do with making sure Quintana doesn't have to pitch against the White Sox 2 weeks after being traded.
