    I would think the money he's owed will play a part, but I'm sure some alum will kick in most of it. I think if he wins the last 2 games and a bowl it would be tough to get rid of him. Plus, if Clausen, Floyd, and Tate all come back if he stays, then they'd be dumb to let him go.

    I know, right. This is a mistake, IMO. Not to mention the slogan "Cochon de Lait" translates into something like "Pig of Milk". I have to be missing something here. Apparently to the LSU fans it means "Pig Roast" according to the comments.

    Would that be a good idea? Millwood for 1 year, Lilly with 1 year left on his deal, and escalating contracts continuing to pile up would lead me to think that relying on Wells to provide cheap production form the 3-4-5 spot in the rotation is going to be pretty important going forward. Unless you think last season was a total fluke and you want to get what you can while the getting's good.

    Yes, this. It's stupid for new ownership of any organization to just walk in with a slash and burn attitude before they are intimately familiar with the inner workings of that organization. It takes time to do that, so I have no issue with the wait and see approach right now. If things aren't going in a different direction a year from now, then yeah, fire everybody and start over. At least then it gets done with the appropriate knowledge of the organizational workings.

    Isn't DePo responsible for most of the draft picks/trades that brought in most of the current young talent the Dodgers have? Convenient he leaves that part out of the mention of the lack of success Beane's proteges have had.

    Talking about the 2 right at the beginning? One was started out in front of the guy and the other I think it looked like he was more in the way than actually blocking him. He put his arms up like he was innocent anyway.

    Part of me feels bad for him but part of me is happy. How in the hell would that make you happy? Because he's in love with Robbie Hummel, remember?

    Is there any indication that he would? The only managing job he had was with a team that was rivaled in lack of healthy talent only by the 2009 Nationals.

    Looking at Wells' line up above, are there any other rookies who have performed as well as he has for as long this year? Does he deserve the ROY or is it going to Happ?

    That Purdue TD may have been even worse defense than the Bears giving up that TD to Green Bay in week 1. Awful.

    I'm starting to think that after IU almost beat Michigan and then Wisconsin beat MSU, although that's not nearly as bad.

    We're not catching them, so isn't it better that they take out some of the WC competition? Not that we have much of a chance at that either.

    Hopefully they're just doing what the Cubs did last year, using up all their good fortune in the regular season only to tank in the off season.

    Apparently they don't have anybody besides Benn who can run more than 15 yards down the field and have a pass throw to them. That was the single most annoying thing watching that game. They never once took a shout down field. The coaching staff is awful based on the lack of adjustments made in game. Also, Gabbert is good. He's huge, fast and man did he make some really accurate throws, both from the pocket and on roll outs.

    So, uh, any particular reason for a team that's not scoring runs to have Sam Fuld in the lineup instead of Jake Fox? Or am I being unreasonable?

    Just found out I've got free tickets to the Illinois-Mizzou game tomorrow. Should be an interesting contest. I'm pretty excited to see what happens.
