We'll have some very important pieces back, so I don't see that happening. And the Cards have no one with stuff in the same realm as Cain's. Regardless of whom we were facing tonight, we played poorly. Too many strikeouts looking (in fairness, a big zone, but you must adjust), that steal attempt in the first should have drawn no throw from Soto but instead the Giants scored a run, no clutch hits, etc... Let's face it, that was as frustrating a game as I've seen in a little while and I'm pissed. Well, when the pitches the called 3rd strikes are on are unhittable because they're 8-10 inches off the plate, I can't complain about the hitting much. That, and the umps zone went from huge outside corner on the LH side of the plate early to huge corner on the RH side of the plate later in the game. His zone was pretty inconsistent the whole game IMO. Unfortunatley, one of the few good outings we'll probably see from Marquis the rest of the way was wasted.
