  1. So who was the guy wondering why I was starting Julius Jones? Unfortunately, I started Portis instead of Lynch which is going to end up coting me the win.
  2. He throws a classic 12-6 curve. Not quite as good as Rich Hill's when they're both on but still a pretty good pitch.
  3. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c365/djelite16/CubsGirl.jpg
  4. That's almost as many 2B as the Cubs have thrown out there in the last several years.
  5. I have the same two quarterbacks and I went with Rodgers last week and will continue to do so. I'd go Gore and Calvin. I agree with this, but I still take Hasselbeck over O'Sullivan. You have to go Gore and I think you'll be fine either way on the other option. I'd go with Lynch, SF pass defense isn't great but it's certainly not bad.
  6. I was leaning toward Gore and Lynch, but Chris Johnson (sorry, I didn't specify earlier) is playing Houston who gave up huge numbers to RB in their only game, Week 1. Basically I'm in a really good spot with three quality RBs and two slots to play them in and I'll probably rotate them according to opponent every week. This week, though, it's Gore vs. Det; Lynch vs. Oak; CJohnson vs. Hou. I was pretty sure I'd be starting Rodgers as my QB until I read the comments above about Hasselbeck playing the Stl porous D. Still think I'll stick with Rodgers, though, it's not like Dallas stopped Philly last week. I'm starting Julius Jones because the Seahawks have NO RECEIVERS right now and will have to run the crap out of the ball. Plus, he's getting all the carries, had a great game last week, and the Rams are awful defensively. The Cardinals and Raiders run defenses aren't spectacular, but they're a lot better than the Rams and I don't quite trust the QBs in Washington and Buffalo enough to be confident they'll score a lot. Plus the Cardinals may score a lot (hopefully since Warner is my QB) and the Skins may not be able to run a lot.
  7. Oddly enough, I think it has to be O'Sullivan. Martz is gonna let him sling it. Should I start him over Hasselbeck? No way. Hasselbeck is up against the Rams who have the 32nd ranked offense and defense. I'm starting Julius Jones over either Lynch or Portis this week.
  8. My favorite part of the article:
  9. On ESPN radio in case anybody cares. Should be entertaining as always. Apparently they're going to talk about Fielder's tape measure job last night.
  10. This is a classic Marquis breaking point. Just when he gets you to believe he's a very adequate guy to have in the 5 slot in the rotation, he goes out and completely craps the bed (sorry Fred). I expect a 5-6 inning 5-6 run outing from him tonight.
  11. I gotta agree with your choices there. Edwards against the Ravens D is an iffy proposition and Dallas got torched by the Eagles passing game. Definitely Burress and Jenings. And Forte looks like a better play than the other 2, especially since Maroney is alittle dinged up. Now, for me, I need 2 RBs out of these: Addai, Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, DeAngelo Williams, and Chris Perry.
  12. It sounds like there is some discontent down here between LaRussa and management and Duncan is in the last year of his deal. It wouldn't shock me to see those 2 end up in Cincy with Jocketty next year. Not saying it's a high probability to happen, just throwing it out there based on the relationship LaRussa and Jocketty have.
  13. I thought I had heard Lou say early on that this was it. This was going to be his last contract and his last shot at a championship before retiring. I remember that too. However he may want to go for one last season. The bigger question though is what street gets renamed in piniella's honor? I vote for Waveland. I don't think it would sound right for homers to be hit onto "Piniella". It just wouldn't be the same as Waveland. Maybe Clark, that doesn't have a lot of ring to it even though Wrigley is at Clark and Addison.
  14. There has to be someone better you can pick up, right? I found Chris Johnson just sitting in free agency in my league. BTW, I have to start 3 of these: Braylon Edwards (lock) Anquan Boldin (lock) Deverey Henderson Laveranues Coles Patrick Crayton Coles is questionable to start this week and didn't do much last week. I kind of like Henderson as the sleeper with Colston out for New Orleans. I had the same thought and left Santana Moss on the bench with his 30 some points. Brilliant!!!
  15. That's theivery on your part. He must either be desperate or have a lot of RBs to part with those guys. And Garrard wasn't enough in the other deal, Brees was too much without other parts added in. Whoever said Brees was a 3rd rounder and Lynch was a 1st rounder was a little off. I see them both as 2nd rounders with Brees having more value because he's elite as his position where Lynch is just better than average. And I have Lynch on one of my teams.
  16. My receiving corps consists of Burress, Winslow, Engram, Javon Walker, Steve Smith, and Reggie Brown. I have to start 3, unfortunately only 2 of them actually played in week one. However, I had the fortune of picking up DeSean Jackson for week 2. Luckily, I had done well enough his bonehead move on the way into the end zone didn't screw me.
  17. Eh, I would think just the opposite. May light a fire for the rest of the year knowing noone is safe and everybody has to fight for a job. Frankly, I hope they pick it up enough to win the WC because I really would rather not play the Phils in a 5 game series.
  18. BOOOOOO Pat. Got me all exicted.
  19. You too, huh. At least a tree didn't fall on your house too.
  20. From the same article: When and why did this happen?
  21. The Cubs deserve this for the way they've played lately. http://msp136.photobucket.com/albums/q170/bdog555/fat-girls-in-bikinis.jpg
  22. I was at the game last night and thought Lou made 3 pretty big mistakes: 1. Not PHing for Demp in the top of the 6th when they had a chance to blow the game open. Minor deal, but could have made a big impact. 2. Bunting with Soto. Are you freaking kidding me? Just because the guy's a rookie doesn't mean you have to have him bunt in that spot. On a side note, awful baserunning by Felix as his lead was about a foot and a half off the bag. 3. Not walking Izturis. Skip freaking Schumaker was next. Take a chance Lou.
  23. The thing most ingrained in my memory from that season is Brant Brown dropping an easy fly ball in Milwaukee to cost the Cubs a game they had won. I was in the weight room in LaCrosse, WI with my buddy the Brewers fan. And then later I heard Ronny nearly have a coronary in the booth.
  24. Go with Ricky. Less unknowns and he's getting all the carries.
  25. huh? All I'm saying is, if Z isn't 100%, which he probably won't be, is that still better than Lilly when it comes to the NLDS? The way the off days work out they'll all probably pitch anyway. The 1-4 guys that is.
