  1. Hate the Phillies. The Brewers would be an easier opponent in the NLCS.
  2. Yup...right behind the library and Chase Park plaza...just east of the fountain on that street (whatever its name is) Thank you gentlemen, and change of wardrobe. I went home at lunch and grabbed my home jersey with a long sleeved blue shirt to wear underneath it. That, and khakis. Yeah, I know, I'm stylin'.
  3. Maybe we can call thie new age of Cardinals baseball, "New Age of Stupid." There is no way Lohse should had gotten that contract. And the Cards are going to regret it when Lohse becomes the new Kip Wells. I don't think it's all that bad of a deal if they think Duncan figured him out and has him on the right track. He seems to be a classic Duncan guy who pitches to contact down in the zone and doesn't get a ton of Ks. The way they structured the deal, he won't kill them even if he does regress to a little above league average in the last couple years of the del assuming the price of pitching continues to go up.
  4. Bar Louie is a right near Kingshighway and Lindell right?
  5. Just got clearance from the tower, so I'm in. I'll probably be there around 5-5:15 and I'm wearing an orange shirt so you guys can find me.
  6. More accurately, why is this game even being played if the Twins won the season series. The NFL and NBA and NHL don't do it this way.
  7. If this is the rotation, I predict that Lilly won't make an appearance in the NLDS. Man, I hope that is what happens Could be a bad thing too. Blasphemer!!!! You shut your dirty mouth.
  8. Yeah, that whole Thomas Jones thing worked out really well for me. I had him starting in one league where I was up 50 points going into Monday night and only had to worry about the Chargers D. I was up against him in another and had a 5 point lead going into Monday night and he only scored 2, giving me the win. I'm usually on the other end of both of those scenarios.
  9. I work a little south of the brewery so I would be up for a downtown gathering on gameday. Let everybody know if you're gonna do it.
  10. So why can't he have a scoreless inning when we really care?
  11. You think Sutt would tell Rothschild. Actually, he said Hill was tipping Shark's pitches with the way he was setting up, not that Shark was tipping his pitches.
  12. Anybody have the final line for Z?
  13. So who was the guy wondering why I was starting Julius Jones? Unfortunately, I started Portis instead of Lynch which is going to end up coting me the win.
  14. He throws a classic 12-6 curve. Not quite as good as Rich Hill's when they're both on but still a pretty good pitch.

  16. That's almost as many 2B as the Cubs have thrown out there in the last several years.
  17. I have the same two quarterbacks and I went with Rodgers last week and will continue to do so. I'd go Gore and Calvin. I agree with this, but I still take Hasselbeck over O'Sullivan. You have to go Gore and I think you'll be fine either way on the other option. I'd go with Lynch, SF pass defense isn't great but it's certainly not bad.
  18. I was leaning toward Gore and Lynch, but Chris Johnson (sorry, I didn't specify earlier) is playing Houston who gave up huge numbers to RB in their only game, Week 1. Basically I'm in a really good spot with three quality RBs and two slots to play them in and I'll probably rotate them according to opponent every week. This week, though, it's Gore vs. Det; Lynch vs. Oak; CJohnson vs. Hou. I was pretty sure I'd be starting Rodgers as my QB until I read the comments above about Hasselbeck playing the Stl porous D. Still think I'll stick with Rodgers, though, it's not like Dallas stopped Philly last week. I'm starting Julius Jones because the Seahawks have NO RECEIVERS right now and will have to run the crap out of the ball. Plus, he's getting all the carries, had a great game last week, and the Rams are awful defensively. The Cardinals and Raiders run defenses aren't spectacular, but they're a lot better than the Rams and I don't quite trust the QBs in Washington and Buffalo enough to be confident they'll score a lot. Plus the Cardinals may score a lot (hopefully since Warner is my QB) and the Skins may not be able to run a lot.
  19. Oddly enough, I think it has to be O'Sullivan. Martz is gonna let him sling it. Should I start him over Hasselbeck? No way. Hasselbeck is up against the Rams who have the 32nd ranked offense and defense. I'm starting Julius Jones over either Lynch or Portis this week.
  20. My favorite part of the article:
  21. On ESPN radio in case anybody cares. Should be entertaining as always. Apparently they're going to talk about Fielder's tape measure job last night.
  22. This is a classic Marquis breaking point. Just when he gets you to believe he's a very adequate guy to have in the 5 slot in the rotation, he goes out and completely craps the bed (sorry Fred). I expect a 5-6 inning 5-6 run outing from him tonight.
  23. I gotta agree with your choices there. Edwards against the Ravens D is an iffy proposition and Dallas got torched by the Eagles passing game. Definitely Burress and Jenings. And Forte looks like a better play than the other 2, especially since Maroney is alittle dinged up. Now, for me, I need 2 RBs out of these: Addai, Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, DeAngelo Williams, and Chris Perry.
  24. It sounds like there is some discontent down here between LaRussa and management and Duncan is in the last year of his deal. It wouldn't shock me to see those 2 end up in Cincy with Jocketty next year. Not saying it's a high probability to happen, just throwing it out there based on the relationship LaRussa and Jocketty have.
  25. I thought I had heard Lou say early on that this was it. This was going to be his last contract and his last shot at a championship before retiring. I remember that too. However he may want to go for one last season. The bigger question though is what street gets renamed in piniella's honor? I vote for Waveland. I don't think it would sound right for homers to be hit onto "Piniella". It just wouldn't be the same as Waveland. Maybe Clark, that doesn't have a lot of ring to it even though Wrigley is at Clark and Addison.
