No kidding I am five hours south of Chicago and I am still able to get all the games (CSN+ included) and that would be a great deal better. What do you use currently? Pain and suffering of only watching when they're on WGN or national TV. I did get a subscription to MLB radio which is a good deal ($15) since WGN radio doesn't quite reach my office during the day or when I'm on the road.

Yes, yes it is. Which is a bummer because I needed something interesting to get me through the afternoon. Does it affect Marshall's thought process at all to know he's got to pitch well with that crap lineup out there behind him? Hey I have a question...forgive me if this is off topic, but how do you watch the Cub games? I am moving to the St. Louis area this fall for grad school, and am wondering what my options are. Do you get MLB.TV or is there anyway to get CSN there. I would assume WGN is available (superstation). I know yesterday's GDT talked about blackouts and I wouldn't think that the Cubs are blacked out in the city. If you get mlb.tv you'll only be blacked out for Saturday afternoon games and Cardinals games. Obviously, you can watch the Cardinals broadcast then, though. Thank you I would have asked you too but didn't want to derail the thread. That is probably what I will be doing. I was planning on getting mlb.tv and can live with watching the Cards announcers for the Cubs-Cards games. Slingbox FTW. I'm thinking about getting one and hooking it up at my dad's in Rockford. No WCIU games, but still a lot more than I get now.

Wow. I find this a little hard to believe. Also, as far as him using steroids in high school, the allegations I heard on TV last night that are supposedly in this book are ridiculous (assuming I was paying enough attention to recall them correctly). I think she's basically claiming he was a twig in HS, juiced, and all of a sudden completely filled out to a world class athlete (something like 50 or 75lbs +). I guess it could be possible, but I just don't buy it. Plus, his HS coach was on TV last night and completely denied everything and said he gained 30 lbs over the course of 3 years. Granted he may just be covering A-Rod's ass, but I would think if he thought A-Rod was juicing he would have just kept his mouth shut concerning the matter. The excerpt I heard was something that was a little more realistic to think a guy was juicing. The one I heard was that he went from being able to lift 100 lbs. on the bench press one spring to putting up over 300 within a 6-8 month period. That would take either some kind of freakish capability for muscle growth or steroids. In either case, I'm amazed there wasn't some sort of ridiculous muscle tear if this story is accurate. Your body just can't handle those kinds of gains without breaking down in some way.

What's preferable, having him make that start on 9 days rest, or having him start today and just go 3-4 innings and then start Friday on 3 days rest. I would think it would be better to have a guy make his starting debut coming off short rest and a light workload rather than unusually long rest. He's already going to have the adrenaline flowing. I was thinking the exact same thing as I was reading the previous posts. If they know they're going to use him Friday, get him 60-70 pitches today and them bring him back on 3 days rest Friday. Is this the guy who was a Cards farmhand at one point? I can never remember if he's the same guy. -

There's a reason he and Bob Knight are such good buddies, and I'm a big Knight fan. They're both bullies who need to be the center of attention and love to whine when things don't go their way. But those are also some of the characteristics that have made them both so successful over the years. If you don't kiss their butts, they either want nothing to do with you or attempt to belittle you until you do start kissing ass.
