  1. I'd probably rather give him 3/50 than 4/60 if the price is going to be as high as it seems.
  2. That looked more like a Robin Ventura style ankle destruction.
  3. This is dumb logic, because by the time that contract is terrible, Schwarber will be starting and hitting 30 dongs a year for almost free so it won't matter if we're paying him $5M a year to catch once a week. Am I missing something? Why would we only be paying him 5M a year when he's going to get 15M annually? Because reading is apparently exceptionally difficult for me. Geez, that was bad. Although the point remains, and I'll be shocked if Martin gets anywhere near $15M annually, which is probably why my brain thought $15M was over 3 years.

  5. You round first hard regardless of whether that is a single or not. I haven't seen a replay focused on Gordon the whole way around, I'm just spitballing You're spitballing that he jogged around 1B on a well-struck single as the final out in the WS? That's the part that bugs me. If he wasn't hauling ass, he certainly should have been so he could take advantage of any mistake made since he was the [expletive] tying run in game 7 of the freaking world series.
  6. I have roughly 55 million for 14 players with arb estimates, though that could be driven down if they buyout Sweeney, non-tender Wood, etc. How could they buy out Sweeney? You know, from his 3 yr/$15MM deal.
  7. Better for team B, and probably by a decent margin if Cooks continues to progress with Graham healthy.
  8. And resembles a hobo. Those eyes are just scary when combined with the scraggly hair and beard along with how much of a spaz he is.
  9. I hope Calipari gets a testicular torsion and can't coach.
  10. There's potential there, but he's wildly inconsistent. 23, 3, 25, 9, and 29 over the last 5 weeks in my league. Definitely worth a shot to cover for a bye week though. Evans would be my 2nd choice of that list.
  11. Tax deduction for the interest. Duh.
  12. If the offense wasn't complete [expletive], they'd be spending more time on the field and keep the defensive shortcomings from looking as awful as they do. It's certainly not going to solve all problems, but if you score a couple more times against Miami, I'm betting they don't put up 27 because they don't get as many chances.
  13. Was the Oshie hit on Carcillo dirty?
  14. Have you ever played or watched golf? There's a minimum of a half dozen swings used in any one round of golf, and I imagine that, much like a varied golf swing, when you practice that alternate swing enough, it becomes a muscle memory thing and not a big deal to pull off.
  15. Depends on the situation for me. 2 outs and nobody on in a tie game? Go for it, maybe win the game. 1 out, down a run late in the game with a guy on 3rd? Cut down the swing and get the run in. The likelihood of that happening vs. the 2 run dinger to win it is so much better, and with as much power as guys like Baez, Soler, and Bryant have, they may make hard enough contact to put it in the seats anyway.
  16. You love the bad players and hate the good ones. What the [expletive] is wrong with you? I think you're confusing me with someone else. I just happened to notice he did something good and was a little shocked.
  17. Mills pancaked whoever he was up against on the Forte catch.
  18. That fumble sack was on mills Many bad throws and bad decision on 3rd and 1 to start the game Why was going deep on the third play of the game a bad decision? If Cutler makes a better throw Alshon would have caught it. Because it's 3rd and 1 and you're at midfield. Get the 1st down and go deep later. It was a poor decision and bad execution.
  19. That fumble sack was on mills The sack is on Mills, the fumble is on Jay's continuing piss poor ball security.
  20. Well, on the plus side, that was about as awful as the could have played, they're only down 14 and get the ball to start the 2nd.
  21. Yeah, he keeps doing stupid crap like that and I'm going to be done with him. That's twice so far today he's done exactly that.
  22. WTF was the MLB doing on that play?
  23. Wait, who's illiterate? And why does it matter?
  24. Turf monster giveth, and turf monster taketh away. Edit: Ninja'd by David.
  25. Nice job by Shea staying home there.
