  1. Why? He hit him in the chest/stomach with his shoulder. Or is that commentary on awful officiating?
  2. He also didn't have a history of debilitating plantar fasciitis like Noah that I can say, speaking from experience, does in fact get irritated with more stress put on it. Between that and the deep front court they'll have, there's zero reason to play Noah more than 30-32 minutes a game. Aren't all the doctors saying plantar faciatis comes and goes regardless of stress? Even so do you think 3 minutes on the court makes a difference? If it does than limit what he does in practice. No, individually 3-5 minutes a game won't make a difference, but you add that up over 82 games and it's 240-400 minutes, or like playing an additional 8-12 games, and yes, that does make a difference. Doctors who haven't had PF can go jump in a lake. Mine acts up much worse when I'm running 50 miles a week than it does when I'm running 30 miles a week.

  4. these are two different things. a burrito isn't a type of taco nor is a taco a type of burrito. a pancake isn't a type of waffle and a waffle isn't a type of pancake. they're just similar foods. They're the same things. They just vary in size and/or preparation, but the necessary ingredients are the same. But then we perceive them as different foods. Because they just are. http://img.pandawhale.com/89952-master-strokes-beard-gif-Kill-bdei.gif No, the thing that makes a burrito not a taco is the inclusion of beans. No beans, it's a taco, beans and it's a burrito. I can't be on your side in this argument, it's too weird and specific.
  5. I was listening to that show when they were talking about it yesterday. Karraker is a complete homer blow hard, but is likely pretty well connected to those who would have this knowledge, thought his was pretty much laid out as a speculative but I know something type deal. Based on some of the things I hear regularly around here, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it happened because there's been absolutely no movement on getting anything done stadium wise here.
  6. Looks more like they're prying the statue loose from the base to move it somewhere while work is being done to me.
  7. Good lord, that's a 2 seamer? That's not fair.
  8. My opponent had Asiata, Donnell, and Jordy Nelson. Fortunately, he left Tannehill on the bench, Foles was terrible, and Atlanta's defense got pounded so I won by 11.
  9. You're bad at sandwiches if bread is ever the main ingredient.
  10. Man, that was some awful play calling in OT. You should drink.
  11. And I know there's not usually much argument for canning a coach mid-season, but these guys look to have quit on Hoke already.
  12. It's glorious!

    Ryder Cup

So we were down 5-3 coming into today and it's now 6-5. I'm not sure I've ever seen all four guys completely crap the bed the way the last group just did on 17 with the match all square.
  14. I found 7. Honus Wagner played his first 3 seasons for the Louisville Colonels pre-1900, and then his team basically merged with the Pittsburgh franchise, where he played the rest of his career, but I guess you have to consider that playing for 2 teams, so he doesn't count as an 8th guy. I was missing who I was somehow convinced also spent time with the Twins. ETA: So I basically decided that it had to be Honus Wagner. That was Molitor.
  15. Who in the hell is Larry Donnell and how in the [expletive] is he starting against me? 3TDs? You've got to be kidding.
  16. Those guys are just annoying. I hope Jason Whitlock gets hit by a bus.
  17. honestly i have no idea how you guys have the energy to still be at all wrapped up in the outcome of these games. that's not a criticism or anything. i'm over here giving myself credit for even watching i'm still holding out hope that the pirates can miraculously overtake the cards for the division. plus it's the cardinals so [expletive] them, they deserve to lose. Yeah, pretty much this. Living amongst them has made me a bitter, bitter man.
  18. I would be pretty shocked to see that happen because those big market teams are the ones that are drawing the most fans to MLBTV. That would completely undercut their whole business model if they did away with the tax and more than a couple big market teams went for it, and I have to believe the Yankees for sure would do it since they've already got their own network.
  19. The Cardinals announcers are so smarmy and douchey that I can't even come up with words to explain how terrible they are. And McCarver is still friggin' senile.
  20. I think Wright has some solid upside. He finished last year really strong as a waiver wire pickup for me and I had him and Keenan Allen in the lineup every week down the stretch after all my WR got hurt. I'd drop Hunter or Blue (who I've never even heard of!).
  21. Right, but if you have to provide verification of ability to see it otherwise (like ESPN's service is now) they're not losing anything, just gaining eyes on commercials that may not otherwise be watching, like a guy at work watching on a tablet or laptop for day games. Edit: The additional tier I'm referring to above is one that would be on MLB.TV for local subscribers.
  22. As soon as next season? Almost certainly no. By 2020 or so? Not out of the question. I'd bet it's out of the question. There is a lot of money tied up in cable deals that depend on being the exclusive in-market homes for local teams. How big of a check does MLB want to cut to each of these RSNs? I guess I don't understand why MLB wouldn't want it to be viewable in the "local" area if you're already able to see it on cable. Just have another tier it runs on and show all the commercials like they do on TV and cable gets their cut from having additional eyeballs watching.
  23. Miami is the 8th largest metro area in the country. Population does not equal ticket sales. Large cities with crap attendance doesn't make it any more likely that there will be small cities with great attendance. I know, which is why using population as a reason for starting a franchise in a city is a foolish notion. Tampa is a Top 20 population region and they've been an excellent ball club for about half a decade now and still can't draw good attendance figures. So if population doesn't matter, and a good team doesn't matter, what does to that god forsaken state? Is putting yet another team in Florida where people obviously don't care about baseball a wise move? It's hard enough enticing new fans to a team in your area when you've spent your whole life rooting for another club, and most of the people in Florida either grew up caring about the Braves or transplanted from the north and are Yankee and Red Sox fans. A place like Portland is perfect cause it's smack dab between the bay area and Seattle so it's kind of a neutral zone where if they got a baseball team they'd likely support the hell out of it because they finally have something to call their own. I just happen to think New Orleans could be the same way is all. It seems to me like they'd have an Atlanta like following with baseball taking such a hugs backseat to any kind of football in that part of the country. Maybe they'd get a better following since the people who live there are actually from there, unlike the transient population of Atlanta and Tampa.
