  1. For me it's more of a not having seen him play much. He definitely lumbers a bit because he's just a big dude but I haven't seen anything that makes me concerned about his defense. Those were both tougher than average catches. Finally Willi!
  2. I don't think he'll have a bad game but the likelihood he gets BABIPed to death is pretty high based on how their luck has been running.
  3. I've read a lot of really dumb posts on this board in the 20+ years I've been here but these are both Top 100 prospects on the list.
  4. This is where I am right now. I'm just going to let the schadenfreude entertain me until they prove they're good again.
  5. While I would normally agree with this, a Brewers OF literally kicked a ball over the wall in Cincinnati this weekend that kept a game winning run from scoring, so yeah, they've gotten some really weird luck on top of being a good team. You don't win 14 in a row without some great bounces your way regardless of how good a team is.
  6. If you look at the offense and not the somehow 19-18 record over the last 37 games because the pitching has been so good, I'd call it a massive collapse.
  7. Well, at least I can start enjoying the fun bad part of the season because expectations at this point are in the toilet. I kinda hope they get swept so i can just continue to laugh and not have to waste my time on this dumpster fire anymore. Unreal how quickly this thing has gone south.
  8. He should run his happy ass hard to first if he doesn't want to be booed. And any player worth his salt isn't going to be mad about the booing in a situation like that because he knows he deserves it. If you think that guy's feelings are so fragile that a little booing is going to chase him away if the Cubs offer the best deal you don't understand how athlete's brains work.
  9. Yep, that's the 2nd time in 2 days he's done that. Regardless of the slump, and probably especially because of it, you can't leave that meat on the bone for fans who are already understandably frustrated with your performance.
  10. As JD just said, he hasn't gone more than 1 1/3 all year so this is definitely not happening.
  11. It's probably something that's going to take a surgery or several months to fully heal and playing isn't going to make it worse so here we are.
  12. I assume it's going to be Taillon, but have they said anything to confirm the game 2 starter for the Cubs?
  13. Until the Brewers pull off something like this, they'll never match the Cardinals pixie dust.
  14. The meatballing and doom bonering in this thread is actually making me laugh about this. Great job gents. If any of you think Counsell isn't riding these guys hard behind the scenes you're crazy. What he's absolutely not going to do is throw any of them under the bus publicly to make you feel better about the job he's doing. I hate this cold streak as much as anyone but as they say, you have to dance with who you brought and reshuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic isn't going to make a bit of difference at this point. The best hitters on the team need to hit and if they don't, they're screwed.
  15. That's not really a teachable skill. You either have enough power to hit it out to that part of the park or you don't. And speaking of Edmonds, that might be the worst one and done HOF candidate in the history of the sport.
  16. Webb's? My gf worked there when she was in college and was telling me how much they dreaded a 12 game win streak.
  17. Nope, shut down for the season with an elbow issue.
  18. Yep, he didn't suddenly forget how to play baseball in his prime. There's obviously something wrong.
