  1. I ramped up my running from 2008-2011 and went from a 3:52 marathon to a 3:16 marathon. I ran a couple more after that in 2012 and 2013 in around 3:25 but then I had to stop running because I wrecked my body so bad that my hip and back couldn't take that level of pounding anymore. I'm sharing this for no particular reason at all.
  2. Sure, but when you send a guy that young out there who's already at that number in a game when you have a sizable lead and we already knew at that point 100 pitches was a decent barometer of use/overuse, it's malpractice.
  3. This might not be the place for you.
  4. I would bet he's a guy who really has to stick to a regimen so he doesn't relapse with the booze and getting out of that routine is a real problem for him so he sticks close to home where he's in his comfort zone and has the support he needs.
  5. I think the owners will always stop short of a hard cap because it essentially forces them to open up their books and actually tell the players what revenues are so the pot can get divided up. Anything that forces them to do that feels like something almost all of them will want to avoid so people like PTR can cry poor and that they "just trying to break even".
  6. Shows what I know. 😂
  7. RE: Bills/Broncos I didn't think it was a catch and the interception was the right call, but if the refs are going to call those garbage DPIs against the Bills, there was definitely DPI on that play by the Broncos. Allen has to make a better throw there, but the receiver got wrapped up before the ball got there and it was a textbook call that the refs can't miss.
  8. Because the Jets are an absolute trash organization and it's hard to hold failing there against anyone.
  9. I'd pass based on him trying to punch an opponent after the game.
  10. I would argue that, barring injury, the starting pitching is probably better and with a ready made reinforcement available no later than July 1st, you even have pretty good insurance there. You're probably better overall offensively too because if Mo Baller is the almost every day DH, you're likely going to get better offensive production there than 3rd base provided last year and most everything else will be essentially a wash.
  11. Okay Chicagoans, when should I grab my ticket? Have prices dropped as far as they're going to or will people panic sell on Sunday when the reality of how cold it is hits them?
  12. Anybody else going to the game? I think I'm gonna grab a ticket and head up Saturday afternoon.
  13. So I watched the last 5ish minutes and both OTs of the Tennessee Texas A&M game last night because I was working out and had TN on the money line (am I a degenerate? maybe). The number of dumb things done and bad shots taken by both of those teams was criminal. Neither one of them wanted to win it and I will be betting heavily against both going forward. 😂
  14. While I generally agree with you on taking the data as a whole, I think projections for a guy very specifically like Horton are difficult when you look at how much he evolved even after he got to MLB and how much he was learning on the job. He certainly had some good luck variance, but it feels like there's some stuff there the projections can't calculate just because of the unknown. I don't expect him to be a 6 WAR guy this year, but I also don't expect him to be a 1.5 WAR guy either.
  15. I'm sure there's at minimum a handshake agreement that the Steelers have to OK whatever job he takes or get compensation in return from the hiring team.
  16. There are very, very few of those. Stan Kroenke and the whole organization are pretty widely hated down here. I have a feeling a lot of STL football fans will be rooting hard for the Bears this weekend regardless of their allegiances.
  17. Yeah, he aged really badly the last couple seasons.
  18. The NFL seems to be able to bend its rules as they see fit to make things like this work. It feels like it's in their best interest to keep the Bears in "Chicago" so I would bet they help a lot more than typical with financing if need be.
  19. That feels a bit disingenuous to say that the facilities/transportation will only be used 10 times a year for Bears games when we know that a new Bears stadium would be a very popular place for concerts and other similar events. I do appreciate the caution being used here so as not to stick the taxpayers with the bill for something that only benefits the Bears owners.
  20. I would assume a bag of balls unless the Cards are floating most of his salary.
  21. I hate the whole idea unless it's directly tied to bringing back Tucker. That's really the only scenario that makes the team better now and in the near future and trading Nico to create payroll room to do it is something I could forgive them for.
  22. 100% agree. Just like that throw to Rome, the game is over if he doesn't make that play.
  23. Best play of Caleb's career so far (Homer.gif)
  24. I didn't realize until way after the game that the handshake was a response to MLF being a douche about after the week 14 game when the Packers one. He's such an arrogant tool.
