  1. My Fan Duel and Draft Kings balances enjoyed all that offense last night. I grabbed Seattle at +4.5 when they went down early too. That game was just a fun watch.
  2. Threatening to make them use their own billions to fund their stadium. It's very rude you know.
  3. Based on how this whole thing has gone, the Bears have no idea WTF they're doing to get the state and local governments engaged in this process. The reporting all along has been about how ham fisted the communications have been between the two and the terrible timelines the Bears have had when they have initiated conversations (i.e. starting a dialogue the week before a legislative session ends and there's literally no time to do anything). The Bears should be embarrassed about this whole thing and it's all their own fault.
  4. Yeah, between the contract he got and how relatively early it still is in the offseason, this feels like a situation where he wasn't getting the offers he wanted and chose something safe to rebuild value for next year. I think your assessment of the Cubs feeling good about Imai and/or not loving King for whatever reason is probably pretty spot on.
  5. If they do this and it puts them close, I'll be very surprised if they don't go over the first level CBT.
  6. I'm concerned about the impact not having those two will have o the running game. Both are good and willing blockers and I don't know how well OZ and Duvernay/Walker will fare in that phase of the game. I suspect we're going to see a lot of 3 TE sets with Kmet or Loveland split out wide.
  7. Yeah, like Jersey said, this is an apples to oranges comparison being made. Baltimore and DC are an hour max apart and Chicago and Indy are about 3 hours apart. No shared TV stations or really anything else, unlike DC and Baltimore.
  8. I'm okay with public money going to things like public transportation that people going to the games will actually benefit from, but zero dollars should go to the actual building of the stadium.
  9. There's been some smoke down here about the Cardinals trading Donovan or Burleson (I don't recall which) and Romero to the Giants for Eldridge, which seems light from the Cards. No idea if that has legs or if t's something even reasonable, but the Giants are definitely after 2B help based on that.
  10. Like squally said, if there's a year to do it, it's 2026. I'll be skeptical until it happens based on recent history, but it's certainly something that makes sense and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
  11. Nice job moving the target there. That wasn't the original question. And when it comes to value vs contract given, Bogaerts was definitely at the bottom of the list for me.
  12. You should go do a deep dive on baseball's anti-trust exemption before you talk about this any more. You're so wildly wrong and out of your depth it's not even funny, and that's coming from someone with just a rudimentary understanding of all the intricacies. The owners will never agree to a hard salary cap because they'd have to tell the players how much money they're actually making. Full stop. There is no further discussion.
  13. You're the one exaggerating wildly to make a point that doesn't exist. There are plenty of reasons to criticize the way the Cubs run things, but their first round draft choices is pretty much bottom of the list.
  14. What the hell is Cade Horton doing on the mound then? Wild strategy!
  15. There's never going to be a salary cap. The owners would have to open up their books to prove what revenues are and there's no chance in hell they ever do that. You have no idea what you're talking about as usual.
  16. This feels like a situation where it's an if not A then B and after that decision is made, we get to C1 and C2 dependent on which of those moves happen. A is signing Imai and if that doesn't happen, they pivot to B, signing Bregman. Depending on which of those happens, they either trade for a bat, stand pat there and sign a higher end reliever (both of these if they sign Imai), or trade for a front of the rotation type (if they get Bregman).
  17. I have no idea why they sat in that weird zone defense for like 6-7 minutes in the second half while Nebraska got and easy look every time down the court when they were in it. Baffling.
  18. Nah. I've been here for over 20 years. You're just another pimple on the ass of the internet.
  19. On one hand, this dude going to be an unavoidable nuisance as long as he's around and I'm already done with him. On the other hand, I'd be incredibly shocked if this person doesn't have some sort of ASD and struggles with social cues so I feel like I should be much more patient than I'm currently willing to be with him.
  20. Yeah, it was pretty bad. I'm pretty sure Thornton didn't get touched by a defender on one of his drives to the basket and got a foul called. There were several other plays where there was almost no contact and they blew the whistle and then they'd allow a wrestling match down low the next time down the floor. The UConn FL game was waaaaaay more physical with less calls.
  21. Some great games last night. Illinois winning with an off night from Boswell is a real positive in my eyes. The comeback from BYU was great even though they tried to blow it with that weird delayed timeout before the buzzer beater and the UConn Florida game was just an absolute battle from start to finish.
  22. A smart organization get's him now with less wear and tear on his arm. Your whole premise is based on Gore not being able to change how he pitches with better data and coaching. Did you not watch cade Horton develop before your very eyes even after he got to MLB last year? Sure, he throws more strikes, but when you have a smart coaching staff who can leverage what a player does best the results are going to improve. Seeing what he's done to the Cubs the last 2 times he's faced them (14 IP, 16K, 1ER) you have to think the guy has some pretty big upside.
  23. Double
  24. This was awful for me. Missouri now has legal sports gambling and one of the sign up perks I got was a free $300 bet. I had TB as one leg of a 4 game parlay that would have paid me like $375 if they won because I hit the other 3 legs. Bastards.
  25. This. He has fall off a cliff written all over him and we'd all be pulling our hair out watching him not get to balls Shaw easily handles, especially with the existing pitching staff.
