  1. I'm not about to gripe about the job Underwood has done. He's gotten them to 6 straight tournaments and the last time that happened was Lon Kruger through the first few years of Weber (99-00 through 06-07). The only real disappointment in his tenure was the loss to Loyola, but they got screwed having to play a team that was way better than an 8 seed essentially as the road team. Last year should have been better but there's not much you can do about Jakuciounas getting hurt and not being 100% the last half of the season. I think he's gotten better as a coach as well. When they were struggling early Saturday, you saw an immediate shift to get Stojakovic in the game and he was clearly told to attack the rim at every opportunity and that strategy really opened things up the rest of the game. Subtle adjustment that made a huge difference.
  2. He should do exactly that and call Sampson a cheater while he does it. There may not be a coach I hate more in CBB than that guy, although Scott Drew is a close second. They're both just so damn slimy.
  3. The whole last 2 possessions were an absolute travesty. Why are you guarding the guy inbounding the ball? Why are you pressing when the only thing that beats you is a 3? Keep the ball in front of you and slow them down, forcing them to run an actual offensive set instead of essentially getting a fast break. Golden completely failed his team there.
  4. Absolutely. Santa Clara blew it by not fouling up 3 at the end of regulation. They do that and they're very likely moving on.
  5. I assume you're talking about SP and RP?
  6. That's exactly what ESPN/Lunardi thinks will happen and it feels reasonable to me too.
  7. Apparently Derosa thought they were already through to the next round regardless of the outcome last night. What a moron.
  8. Yeah, it was pretty clear by about 5 minutes into the game the refs were going to allow it to be a rugby match. The poor shooting from 3 was definitely a bigger issue though and like you said, I don't expect that to continue. I am concerned about Tomi though, he just looks a step slow and the 3s just haven't been falling for him at all lately.
  9. This is where I'm at. I think they're delusional if they think they're getting multiple first round picks when he's already 28, making a ton of money and likely will want to renegotiate his deal since Garrett and Parsons have signed since he did, and they have almost no leverage because of him saying he's done playing for them.
  10. That doesn't even make any sense. Hitters and catchers are challenging different things. Catchers challenge when a pitch in the zone is called a ball and hitters are challenging when a pitch out of the zone is called a strike.
  11. He's been doing a ton of west coast CBB games recently and it caught me by surprise how frequently I've turned a game on and he's doing it. Lot of Big 12 too.
  12. Unfortunately, the vast majority of tickets are way more than $29. My buddy was trying to find some last night and found one game on like March 31st that was priced that way and everything else was $65+.
  13. I was happy to see Brady Tkachuk get laid the horsefeathers out.
  14. Are we talking average here or lowest price point? I spent less than that to go to the Rams game, so that seems high for regular season games.
  15. No, it's over their point of view that certain people aren't deserving of equal protection under the law as the constitution requires, which isn't politics.
  16. Because 2 of the most prominent players are openly pieces of horsefeathers and that's not the case with most of the rest of the US olympians.
  17. This is really dumb at face value, but then when you consider that Bregman is signed for 5 years and the Cubs are losing 4 starting position players and 3 starting pitchers after this season and need to backfill preemptively when talent is available to prevent the team from falling into an abyss, it gets even worse.
  18. Yeah, not having to schedule around them will free up a lot of dates even into October that they might not have been able to make use of because of the Bears.
  19. Let's not get carried away here. He had a successful real estate business but marrying into the Walton family has absolutely allowed him to do all the things he has with regard to sports ownership.
  20. Yeah, that was absolutely wild and the final sequence in double OT was an exclamation point on the whole thing. A missed tip dunk as time expires that would have tied it again is just crazy.
  21. You act like we've never seen guys like David Wells and Bartolo Colon pitch 250 innings in a season. Their lack of effectiveness has little to do with their body makeup and everything to do with their inability to throw good pitches consistently, and I'd argue Assad has mostly figured out how to do that.
  22. Probably to keep Seiya fresh. I imagine he'll be out there most of the time against righties and the days a lefty is starting he can DH to get a break.
  23. Yeah, that was absolutely brutal to watch. Woof. That thing folded like a cheap lawn chair.
  24. They need a wartime consigliere.
