  1. eSteroids?
  2. Scoreboard shows him with 18 points.
  3. Why would anyone want Bonds?
  4. It's pretty standard. That's the way all fantasy leagues operate. Odd thing is that he's not eligibile to play LF for 20 or so games. Reading is a skill. :D Okay, that's even MORE odd. If you played 19 games there last year, you aren't eligible, but if you play 6 this year, you are. Besides, I don't read the rules anymore. They're just so incomplete.

  6. I don't need Maggs. I have a fine RF who is points exempt. It seems to be YOU who doesn't get it. What should I have done? Taken Maggs and had to release two other players, all the while having a good RF already on my roster? RF is not a need, so why would I give up a draft pick that WILL fill a need for a guy who doesn't? That would be stupid. Not quite Francouer and a 5th round pick for a Singe A catcher, but still...
  7. Which four are you talking about as being "very good to great teams?" Is it USC/Nebraska/Tennessee/Penn State or FSU/Florida/Miami/LSU? Because if you are talking about Group A: then I disagree. USC has been consistantly good, but the other three, are pretty much hit or miss at this time. They can be good, but as of right now, Tenn/PSU/Neb are middle of the pack average teams in their conferences. Now if you are talking about Group B: I disagree. Miami and FSU has basically been mediocre since the start of the new century. At this point of time, Miami and FSU are recognizable based on school rep, moreso then on-the-field production. Of those 8 teams, only three of them (less then half) can be caterize as "good to great teams." The other 5 teams are.......need things to break right to have a good season. While Tennessee isn't an elite program right now by any means, to say we're "middle of the pack average," is overexaggerating our recent downtimes a bit. 2007: 10 wins and an SEC East title - lost the SEC Championship game with 2 late picks 2006 : 9 wins and a second place finish in the East 2005: 5-6 - most definitely a terrible year where every break went against us 2004: 10 wins and an SEC East title - gave an unbeaten Auburn (should've been in the National title game) everything they wanted 2003: 10 wins and a 3-way tie for the SEC East title There's no doubt we haven't been quite as good as I would have liked, but 10 wins a year (save one) and top two in the East four of the last five years (including twice being in the SEC Championship game) is better than middle of the pack SEC. RedFlash is a Bammer. 'Nuff said. Good point. I forgot about that. Really, I've asserted for awhile now that without that 5 win year (I realize you can't omit the season, but still...) people wouldn't hate Fulmer nearly as much as they do. If a couple of breaks had gone our way (like the ball Cory Anderson had securely wrapped up that was popped out and conveniently wound up going out the back of the end zone when we had Bama beat) and that season ended up 7-8 wins - Fulmer wouldn't be as universally despised as he's gotten. His wins/arrests ratio hurt pretty badly.
  8. Sorry, but I am not drinking that Kool Aid. You got a prospect who isn't even worth a 5th rounder, much less throwing in an exempt RF who could be a top 5 RF. Even the BEST catcher in the game projects somewhere around 50th in offensive points- and that is a PROVEN commodity. I just don't get it. Yes, you have a good offensive team. "Loaded to the hilt"? Not so sure, especially when you give up your starting RF for a guy who won't be any use to you this season. But, hey... it's your team. My opinion means just about zero. Anyway, good luck. With the players you have returning and your draft picks, I don't see any way that you and Ocho Loco shouldn't be favorites. But, I think Tim has put himself into that discussion adding Francouer AND a 5th rounder.
  9. I haven't seen much of Stanford, but they didn't look good last night. Not to mention Brook Lopez has to be the ugliest looking player in the NCAA. Robin Lopez will fight you.
  10. Anything that cannot be quantified by an obscure formula is irrelevant. Even I know that.
  11. Okay folks, I'm on the clock. Who will it be? Papi or Miggy? (And the first person to answer Jeter gets a 50 point beatdown in our first matchup...)

  13. Travis Buck is a thought. LF-RF eligibility, and while he is not likely to rake this year, he does have a future.
  14. Tim MUST have naked photos of Slainte, because he gave up a Minor league catcher for a starting RF AND a 5th round pick.
  15. Tim MUST have naked photos of Slainte, because he gave up a Minor league catcher for a starting RF AND a 5th round pick.
  16. Why? Because I have no use for Andre Ethier or Hayden Penn? Ethier is a dime a dozen type of guy, and I needed the room in the minors with Salty being demoted. You could get in on the action too, ya know?
  17. Plenty to respond to here. 1. Tennessee IS a better program than IU right now. 2. Anything that you have read that states that the Lady Vols outdraw the men is antiquated. That has not been the case in 3 years. Even if both fill the arena at the same rate, the number of tickets given away for Lady Vol games assure that the mens program earns at least 3x the amount that the ladies do on ticket sales alone. 3. Pearl WILL get a raise, without question. He will be in the 2 million dollar range very soon. (and for the record, neither Pearl nor Summit make what Fulmer makes. As a business decision, neither deserve to. As a sports decision, both should be close, but Fulmer still deserves more.) 4. Tennessee gave Pearl a chance when no one else would. He is not leaving any time soon. And for those of you whiners who bash Pearl for being dirty- stop crying. You guys are like the brilliant Bama football fans who blame everyone else for YOU getting caught cheating. "It's the NCAA's fault!" "It's Tennessee's fault!" Was the way he did it above board? Nope. Was he the one cheating? NOPE. Truth is, Pearl HAS to be clean. Do some of you people really and truly think that there aren't 20 coaches out there looking for anything- any little thing at all- with which to accuse and indict Pearl? Get real. If he were cheating, there is a long list of names of coaches who would be all over it.
  18. Hey folks... I can't be very available on Sunday night, and my minors are full, so I am looking to package draft picks and exempt players to move up a little bit in the draft. Not looking to move into the top 7 or 8 rounds, but I will give up exempt reserves and picks to move up a couple of rounds here and there. Ryan Garko and Michael Teahen both project with better points than guys like Fukudome and Hank Blalock, and Andre Ethier and Elijah Dukes both have multi-position eligibility. None will be immediate fantasy starters (Garko potentially could be, though), but all are viable reserves. I just have zero need for minor leaguers (I am happy with mine) and that is what you get in those rounds that I am trying to move out of.
  19. And my fantasy draft just changed drastically...
  20. Sorry to hear that Mooch.
  21. They do. Perhaps it's only in auto draft leagues?
  22. BJ Upton lost his rookie eligibility in 2004 by having over 130 AB. Therefor the three year countdown began in 2005 no matter his service time. According to whom? CBS shows him with 3 years of service. Hosak, Tim and I have discussed and we amend the rule that if a player does not have ANY AB or IP in a year during their exemptness, then that will not count against the player. BJ Upton is there for exempt for the 2008 season. If anyone else has a similar circumstance and released a player because of something like this please notify Tim or myself and we will make an adjustment the adjustment to your roster. You have until Sunday night (one week before the draft) to let us know. Thank you. I dropped Ted Lilly because of this. Do I get him back? Also, thanks very much for reviewing. It just seems fair that you did, and I appreciate it. If he fits back under your 1800 points, then yes. I will add him back to your roster tonight but only if you promise to stop bothering me now. He does, and I will. Hey, you guys want "involved", right?
  23. It isn't that he was added, per se. What happened is that a new guy took over a team, and I made him an offer for Oswalt. Because he is still new to the league, and to CBS, he did not know that he had an offer and released Oswalt. I sent him an email asking what it was about the deal he didn't like, and he told me that he was never aware that he had an offer. We presented the case to the commish, and he allowed the deal to be made because the newbie was unaware.
