  1. You can't argue with top 5 numbers. I would be surprised if you're offered better. Actually, I have not gotten any sniffs, so I guess I am overvaluing Wright but by year's end he will be a top position player so I will not give him away and still stand by my request for a top player or players. The pitcher you offered has only done it recently so I don't consider it top 5 performance. So you think Wright is worth more than the 6th top pitcher- Lee (and you'd be right) but turned down a top 8 RF PLUS an exempt pitcher and a Top 100 minor leaguer for the 29th top pitcher to this point? Sounds pretty inconsistent to me.
  2. I like him better already. ;) You would.
  3. E-mail sent. Is he a member of these boards? Nope. He hates the Cubs. Do I need to tell him to join?
  4. Who said he "deserved it more"?
  5. Could you find out? He can take over by the end of the week if he wants. He said he'll do it. If you want to email him, his email is nickhessior@gmail.com
  6. Is this guy you speak of still interested? Yeah, I think so. IN any other league, he wouldn't be, but since this is a keeper league, I think he will be.
  7. That trade would have netted you 108 points thus far. Yes, ARam is the best player in that deal, but both Morneau and Encarnacion are outscoring Vlad, and it's not terribly close.
  8. You should probably include some pertinent info, such as: Type of league (H2H, Roto, Keeper, etc...) Scoring system. (No one can tell you if trading Jose Reyes for Dan Haren is a good deal or not without knowing how your league values their strengths...) Other roster and league factors (eligibility, other players on your roster, etc...) Just trying to help my fellow fantasy players in their search for good trades...
  9. It's head to head. There are no "categories" to carry. Anyone who answered this guys post did so from a perspective of complete and total ignorance. Unless you understand the scoring system of his league, you have no idea if this is a good offer or not. If his league places no value on steals (my keeper league, for example, scores .25 points for a steal and deducts .5 points for being caught stealing) then Reyes' value goes way down.
  10. You're kidding, right? You're complaining that ESPN went away from a Cubs game in May to show a potential no-hitter, and by a 24 year old cancer survivor, no less? ESPN broke away from a game that was just like every other game this day to show history, and you're actually downplaying it? (Cue the Sabersheep jumping in to point out that a no-hitter is meaningless...)
  11. Pitching points. I have been thinking this for a while, but was waiting for a no-hitter or perfect game to see the impact it would have. The impact is too high. Seriously, if Ellsbury does not make that great diving catch, should Lester have really lost 25 points? Or, does he deserve 25 points for Ellsbury making a ridiculous grab? The no-hitter puts way too much emphasis on the pitcher. Likewise, if a guy throws a perfect game, is it really worth 25 points more than a guy who throws a no-hitter, does not walk anyone, but his defense commits an error to lose the perfecto? Points for both events are much too high. CG should be worth a few extra points (5). Shutouts should also be worth 5 points (the net would be 10 since you have to record a CG to record a SHO.) No-No's should only be worth 10 additional points, and Perfecto's an additional 15. In each case, you still earn an additional 20 and 25 points, respectively. MUCH better than the current 35 and 60.
  12. Did you ever reach him? I get that he's trying to sell his house. I'm trying to buy one, and it's the busiest time of year for me at work right now, and I still have time to sign in and check my team's status and set rosters. Not doing anything at all after being given a spot in the league over a guy who would be very active is a bit ridiculous.
  13. Emanuel Negedu has asked out of his LOI at Arizona, and speculation is that if it's granted, Tennessee and Indiana are likely destinations, with Tennessee leading. A signing is expected to happen fairly quickly. If he is not granted the dismissal, he has said that he will attend another year of prep school.
  14. Well, as long as you checked every minor leaguer to make sure he is within the 130/50 standards then I don't have to worry. :good: Bronx DSB's actually have two illegal players- Velez and Reyes. Everyone else checks out, though there are a few guys who are close (Ian Kennedy, for example). When you go to All Teams on the My Team tab, it shows very clearly who you need to check up on. I didn't think Velez and Reyes were really that close, though I admitedly did not check up on them last night. I guess that's why they pay you the big bucks!
  15. So says CBS Sportsline. I get a little more detailed. How so? Sounds a bit ridiculous to me. CBS already restricts us from placing guys on the DL who are not officially on the DL. What else is there, other than minor leaguers, which are all legal as of last night?

    New Team?

    Glad to have you back!
  17. As of 5/18, everyone is legal.
  18. He will not be a tough sign. As a UT fan, and an avid follower of recruiting, it has been made very apparent that Kelly will be a professional baseball player if drafted in the first round. He would join a jammed depth chart at QB at Tennessee, and the baseball program is still in transition under first year coach Todd Raleigh. So, it is almost a no-brainer that Kelly ends up signing a contract with the team who drafts him, provided it is in the first round. He might use the scholarship as leverage, but I suspect that's all it is. I also feel that he gets his first shot at being an every day player. He would play SS from day one at UT, and would likely be a weekend starter, but I think his value as a left side of the infield type of player is pretty high at this point.

    New Team?

This is why Tim pays me the big bucks. Anyway, when I told raw you were going to give him Miguel Cabrera and BJ Upton to come back, he couldn't say no. Did you tell him I was asking for Kazmir, Hamels, Crawford, and his first 3 picks?
  20. Hosak8

    New Team?

Nevermind. I see the message on the league homepage. Intersting how Raw didn't want to play with the team he had, and wants to now that this team is available. ;)
  21. How did you already get Raw to fill Vine's spot? I thought he left the league this offseason because he did not want to play anymore? Anyway, welcome back, Raw. Will you please respond to either of the offers I made to Vine? THanks!
  22. Some of you need to go watch "Coming to America." It really is a great movie. Maybe you should have written it thusly: "He helped GILLLLI-gan get off the island." Best. Comedy. Ever.
  23. He does not qualify yet. You have any response to the offer I made you last week?
  24. Are you kidding? There are people on here who do that every day. And he, ya know, actually played baseball. Maybe not well, but better than guys on here who think baseball is played on a TI85.
  25. Bobby Maze, PG for Hutchison CC (Hutchison, KS) signed with Tennessee today, adding to a class that already included Renaldo Woolridge and Scotty Hopson. THis class is now possibly a top 5 class.
