  1. HOw do you know? I thought that the draft date had not been finalized yet? Regardless, you can prerank your players. I thought it was supposed to be the weekend of March 29. If that's the case, I will not be able to do it. I guess my real question was, where on the site is the option to prerank eligible players? There is a link at the bottom. It is in a light blue box, I believe.
  2. Is there any way to do it the way CBS typically does in their leagues? For team who will miss all or part of the draft, the way ours is set up is a major problem. Typically, CBS has you rank your players by position, and then rank the order in which you would like for your positions to be drafted. With the current set-up, it is possible to miss out on 3 rounds, and end up with 3 consecutive picks all at the same position. Is it too late to revert to the other way?

  4. I'm just not clear why a full season in the minors should cost him an exemption. That makes no sense. It would be one thing if he got ANY playing time whatsoever in the majors, but to not get a single plate appearance and still have it count against him is silly, I think.
  5. Says the guy who finished 3rd to last in our league last year! Honestly, though, I agree with you. For an 8 team league, I'm thinking this roster (especially the pitching) is no better than middle of the pack.
  6. Hmmm. Okay. For the record, a 200 point reliever- while not the greatest- is still worth keeping, I would think. One less wasted draft pick on the most worthless position in our league. Of course, any league in which Heath Bell is the leading scorer among relievers is a league where you can just pick up free agents at the position long after the draft. And I'm curious why you think Halladay is the better pitcher? 60 fewer points less last year, 60 fewer projected in 2008, and 30 fewer per year over the last 3. I mean, it's your team, I'm just curious. (And, for the record, I think you're in GREAT shape going into this year. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see you and Slainte battling for a championship.)
  7. There you are. Better late than never, I guess... Out of curiosity, why did you choose to keep Halladay over Sabathia, and to not keep Cordero? You still had 200 points available to keep.
  8. Non-Exempt Chase Utley 596.4 CC Sabathia 558 Carlos Guillen 515.3 Roy Halladay 491.5 Aramis Ramirez 487.1 Pat Burrell 481.9 Javier Vazquez 472.8 Bengie Molina 450.5 Kelvim Escobar 447.8 Frank Thomas 440.8 Tim Wakefield 332.8 Curt Schilling 300.8 Mike Mussina 265.2 Roger Clemens 197.8 Chad Cordero 193 David Weathers 190 Justin Duscherer 29.2 Exempt Ryan Howard Nick Swisher Chris B. Young Joe Mauer Alex Gordon Jered Weaver Jonathan Papelbon Francisco Liriano Minors Andy Marte Chin-lung Hu Eric Patterson Joe Savery Gio Gonzalez Jeremy Sowers Daniel Moskos (whoever gets this teas has a TON to drop, but still has some very good keepers...)
  9. Well, here is the reality fo the deal: I offered the package for Oswalt and the #17 pick. The team I offered it to almost certainly has to drop Oswalt because of other points he will keep, and he will also be dropping all but 2 position players, including all of his 3B. So, because Oswalt will be dropped, the net worth of this trade is what I originally posted. The other team is a new owner, taking over for an owner who did not do a good job of drafting or trading for exempt players or minor leaguers. The new owner has dropped Oswalt and Zambrano, because his points are eaten up by Soriano, Victor Martinez, and a couple of other pitchers.
  10. If a new player had no idea that he was offered a trade, and wishes that he had seen it and made the trade, is there anything that can be done? One of our newbies did not see an offer I made him, and he dropped a player that I offered him something for. We are discussing it via email, but unless one of you can do something abut it, there is nothing that either of us can do. Please advise.
  11. In a 12 team keeper league, where you can keep 1800 points, and players with less than 4 yrs service time are exempt, would you trade: A second round pick (17 overall) for 3B- Garrett Atkins (exempt) SP- Andrew Miller (exempt) SP- Anibal Sanchez (exempt) 5th rounder (49 overall) 5th rounder (51st overall)
  12. DSB just dropped plenty of good talent. A thin pitching draft just got a little bit more interesting, though not much offense was dropped.
  13. For those of you who do not have Raycom, and missed it, Billy Gillispie cost the Wildcats a chance to at least get the final shot off. With Georgia at the line, after hitting the first, the camera shows Gillispie putting his right hand up to his mouth and yelling "goaltend it!" Then, he yells "Perry.. HEY Perry, goaltend it" while motioning with his right hand. Apparently, BCG did not know it was a tech. Way to go, coach. Perhaps you should have just told your players to keep getting lane violations until Georgia hit the shot? Moran.
  14. Well, THIS should piss off bubble teams... The SEC is considering naming "Co-Tourney Champions" in the midst of the fallout from the weather in Atlanta. The winner of Tennessee/Arkansas would be one of the co-champs. The UK/UGA winner would play Miss St on Sunday for the other co-champion title. If UGA were to win out, they would be co-champions, and possibly in line for an automatic berth in the Tourney. That's right, the SEC might get TWO auto bids... If that isn't a crock, nothing is.
  15. Dunn, CLee, Maggs, Papi, who will it be?
  16. I think they'd get a 6 under those circumstances.
  17. Okay, so the league says that the draft date is the 22nd. Is this true? Also, these teams are two weeks past the deadline to get their rosters under the limit. Is there going to be any enforcement of the rule on this? It's pretty tough to prepare for a draft when you have no idea who's in it two weeks before. Others may not, but I have an insane schedule, including being out of town and away from internet access ALL of the week leading up to the draft. So, if the commish could either get the teams to comply or drop players for them, that would be helpful.
  18. Sunday works better for me, but I am open to either, I guess. What time?
  19. Who says this? Last year's points say this. Check it out. 2007 scoring, Heath Bell finished 3rd among relievers, but both of the other relievers got 90% of their innings as starters. Well now you've given away the sleeper of the draft!!! Oh no, he's an exempt keeper on my roster.

  21. Wait what? I hadn't heard this. The feeling among the Rivals Basketball guys is that TN leads. With Hopson, I think we can all agree that until he signs, NOTHING is a done deal, but several people feel that UT is the team to beat here.
  22. Tennessee beats Florida 89-86 in Gainesville for UT's first regular season outright SEC championship in 41 years. You Big 10 homers can hate on Pearl all you like, but he has this program in the elite, and with Renaldo Woolridge, Phillip Jurick, Daniel West, and likely Scotty Hopspn coming in next year, followed by Kenny Hall and :beg: Leslie McDonald, the Vols look like they could be on top for a while. Disbelieve if you will. Matters not. The Vols are real.
  23. So, has anyone else noticed how much more valuable offense is than pitching in this league? And, seriously, Heath Bell was the most valuable reliever last season? Really?!?
  24. Go to the General Fantasy Sorts Forum, and see the thread NSBB HEad to Head Keeper League. There was significant interest there. Could even possibly expand by two teams...
  25. bump for Tim and Mooch
