    Well with the playoffs gone, our only sense of completion can come from beating the hated Redbirds. Kinda like the Bears and the Packers.

    Yep. Those were so abysmal.....my poor cubs hat took so much abuse that week. You could literally see it falling out of their hands. At least they never had the wild card lead here. EDIT: Treebeard: You will. And I will. Like abused spouses we'll always come back when the Cubs start promising the world. :(

    No need to use hyperbole to try to prove your point. I never suggested Hendry should shield him in the minors, just echoed a concern about his ability to adjust to MLB pitching if promoted too soon. The Cubs already did that once, it'd be a shame to do it again, imo. My guess is they won't be able to get him down there again. So they'll either have to deal with him if he's not ready or trade him. And right now, I'm guessing Hendry has practically thrown in the towel. CPatt isn't working for a September call-up to save the team, he's working on increasing his trade value.

    Just bat him 7th, which isn't too important of a spot in the order. It sounds like Zambrano was really p'd off tonight at the d. He has every right to be. With the offense as well. He pitched 8 shutout innnings last outing to the tune of 0 run support. Which has been his thing all year. He should have at least double digit wins by now. I fear for our FA pitching situation if this offense or defense doesn't improve.

People are practically running out to the store to buy stuff with his face on it so they can parade around campus in it. "That's showing those offended Indians!" In my mind its remarkably similar to Germans naming a team the Auschwitz Jews. It's a tribute. They died there. EDIT: And yeah it's really stupid that the NCAA is only during tournaments. Wusses.
