  1. Not this year at least. I give him another half a season to see if he returns to form. Took Dempster a while, etc.

  3. :-k
  4. *sigh* You nailed it.
  5. And he's a cardinal killer. .417 .548 .792
  6. ... zambrano could take a line drive to the head so hard that the ball got stuck in his skull and he'd still tell dusty he didn't want to come out. Zambrano's right arm could literally fall off and he'd try to pitch with his left. The question is never "what does zambrano want?" but "what is best for the team" Please, whattya gonna do now? Make him avoid stairs because he might fall down and land on his arm? He's a PITCHER. Those risks come along with pitching, and there's nothing you can do about them, except hope they don't happen. Taking Zambrano out in that case would probably do more harm to him and the team than leaving him in. I know freak accidents have happened to our pitchers, but they're "freak" accidents, you don't take the ball from a pitcher's hand when he can and wants to finish the 8th inning. What does that say about your confidence in the pitcher? What does that do to team morale?
  7. Gotta love it.
  8. I would disagree. I'd let them pitch to about each pitcher's average amount, maybe given a little leeway depending on when they're batting or what inning it is. You'd wear out the bullpen if you cut them out too fast or sit them down after 5 innings. I know our pitchers have had their injuries, but it's just part of the game. Both are young pitchers yet, and could stand to gain from more experience.
  9. Oh come on. Z wanted to finish the 8th and I'd say he's deserved it.
  10. Uh, yeah but one was to push the runner from second to third. Can't complain about that.
  11. To be fair to the ump, if you look at where he was standing, he couldn't see how softly the ball was thrown, because the SS was standing with his back to the ump. So he didn't have a good look at the play. Great job Cedeno! Ryno says he likes Cedeno a lot.
  12. Matters to me and matters to Ryno. Good baserunning by Holly, and a great decision by Spier.
  13. Hey Fred, what is the Cubs record with Cedeno playing SS?
  14. Man I just love watching Z play. When he stuck out, he walked back to the dugout swearing and yelling and shaking his head. When he just ended the inning, he was shaking his head because he allowed a hit. This guy is a GAMER. Now, he just has to stop reaching out with that hand before it ends his career.
  15. Thanks buddy! :D Let's get a win for Ryno boys!
  16. Hey Fred: What is the Cubs record when DLee hits at least one homerun, and in the first inning the Cubs pitcher pitches a 1-2-3 inning?
  17. Disagree. No matter where the A's land this year, Billy Beane has got to be happy. This was their 'rebuilding' year, and they're almost in the playoffs.
  18. Can you add a question mark? You got my hopes up there.
  19. We walked twelve batters in one game?!
  20. Hey Dusty? You wanna manage a team that has no expectations? Go to Kansas City!
  21. *When that blasted homerun was hit by Andruw Jones it went out of the park right? So the crowd starts chanting "throw it back", but whoever was on the outside had a weak arm and couldn't get it over the fence the first time. Next thing I know, a ball is thrown out from the left field bleachers, and then another one from center field, and then one from right field, and finally the original one from outside    Cubs fans were throwing back the balls they got from the outfielders at the beginning of the inning *Dempster went out before one inning to play catch with Lawton, but would look at the crowd along the the third base foul line, pretend like he was going to throw into the stands, and then throw it to the ground right in front and act all frustrated that he couldn't get it up there. *In Dempster's playing catch with Lawton, he kept throwing him either curves or knuckles 'cause it would move all around and make Lawton look silly. Also I don't know if the announcers said it, but Burnitz's granny was RIGHT into the wind blowing in from straight center. He must have just CRUSHED that ball. Good game to go to! I'm now 4-1 over the last two years with 3 Cubs blowouts.
  22. I AM tempted to watch now. Note: Sign may or may not actually happen. :P
  23. I'm gonna be at the game! Watch for a "Hank White Fan Club" sign behind third base! \:D/
