  1. I still have faith in Hendry. You watch, he's gonna do some fun stuff this offseason I bet.
  2. i'm smearing the tines of my pitch fork with feces. look out. A seasoned veteran of angry mobs. They've been preparing for Dusty for years, but this'll be good practice.
  3. I'm not sure if they have seasons, but http://www.goldcoasttickets.com always has reasonable prices, and the best thing is they have an office right by Wrigley so you can order your tickets and pick them up at the office when you go to the game. I think you should call them and make sure they sent them to that office though, because they also have on in the loop.
  4. Well I think Hendry has made his choice, and it happens to coincide with this poll....maybe he saw my thread?
  5. YES! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  6. Yep. That would be beyond disastrous.
  7. That's my guess. He knows how the hot-stove can be. Probably laughing his butt off right now.
  8. I had thought they were not sure when he might, leading to people thinking that they need another pitcher in the rotation.
  9. This is a good idea, by the time I have a job and am working on my Masters in Chicago, I'll have season tickets.
  10. "Cubs GM Jim Hendry said Kerry Wood is progressing after shoulder surgery to such an extent that he expects the righty not only back to pitch next spring, but return to the rotation." -- New York Post source I'm wondering if this is true, because that would be good news. I'm also wondering if Hendry isn't stretching the truth a bit to make it appear like he can walk away from another starter and that he isn't so desperate for pitching. Regardless, we could hope for nothing more than a healthy Kerry Wood next year.
  11. And the feeling I get with Corey is that he is content at where he is at, with his baseball career. Which is unacceptable. Where is the competitor? Where is the "drive?" I'm sorry, this whole buying low/selling high crap is overrated. It's obviously Corey doesn't figure in the long-term plans of the Cubs, so if the organization can pick up a player or two, that CAN LEGITMATELY help the Cubs organization---something Corey can't/won't do---then regardless of talent, Hendry should do it. Corey won't reached "high value" with the Cubs. You'd rather he toss bats and break chairs and kick electric fans? If anything, CPatt is more professional and has a better attitude than most players because he can show restraint and coolness when the fans are booing him and he's having a terrible time at the plate. How many of us could say the same?
  12. We play the Cards six times in April?! Look for them to jump ahead in the division early this year....
  13. Which one would you rather lose? http://static.flickr.com/26/56565436_e1223498f6.jpg
  14. link This is pretty funny.....
  15. TJ. You can't win without scoring.
  16. Neif! as well....Although I'm really looking forward to Furcal now.
  17. I heard from someone who works at the Sun-Times that this might be going down. That was in July though...
  18. I have a question for Bruce if he's reading...? How many of these 'news release' articles do you have to do for every 'opinion' article? Because, unless I'm mistaken, the primary focus of this article was to inform those who didn't read the Cubs website.
  19. I think he's covering the White Sox right now, but I'd be interested in this answer as well. He's not the best defensively, but his offense is good enough to balance it and, and he's cheap next year.
  20. Not to mention Aramis started the year in a slump.
  21. What about a lack of sample size? 5 innings? with how many walks? i'm sorry, my opinion may be tainted by memories of watching him throw the ball in the general direction of the plate, every time he got in the game, without having any success in the strike zone. Yep. Every time I've seen him pitch, he can't get near the plate. He can't be allowed to pitch in close games because he walks so often. No way I'm blaming Dusty for this one. As far as I'm concerned, Dusty's handling it correctly.
  22. So no injury pool or Injured thread?
  23. Gotcha. Yep. And then came the "Choke" T-shirts with the C being the cubs logo. And then all summer I worked with Sox fans cackling with delight over their pitchers. Thank god we split the series or I would have heard even more...
