  1. If we go through with this, they should just save us all the pain and money we spend and contract this team.
  2. this is Kobe's annual cry for attention. if he isn't stroked by everyone a little each year he gets ornery. someone get him his binky This is especially important to Kobe now as he is seeing LeBron become the man in the NBA.
  3. Oh yeah we are right up there with the Arizona's and Tampa Bay's of the world.
  4. I am suprised no one has posted this yet. It seems Bush, the former number one overall pick, is going to be trying to pitch. I guess a .500 OPS wasn't what the Padres were looking for. How long until the cubs try the same with Ryan Harvey? Link: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070531&content_id=250954&vkey=news_milb&fext=.jsp
  5. That's really frustrating. Colvin seems to be fitting right in with the rest of the organization's hitters. I still think it's way too early to be calling him out. At least it turned out to be a better pick than our first rounder in 05. Or '03
  6. That was an "I'm Keith Hernandez" moment. LeBron was just throwing whatever up and it was going in. I couldn't believe some of the shots he got to go down. There were a couple in there that when he let them go, I just shook my head but then they went in. I still don't think this series is over because those shots aren't going to continue falling. The Pistons did hold him to 19 points through three quarters. They are at the same point they were in last year. The next win they get is the toughest. I hope LeBron can do it. Oh and Cleveland might want to think about getting some kind of post player.
  7. At least he is doing this before we signed him to some god awful contract extension.
  8. Are you sure about that ?They may be taking different routes, but their ending up at the same place. I hate giving Hendry any credit, but at least he's been able to fool some people into thinking this team can win the division (even before the season). I can tell you now that no one will pick the Lions or the Knicks to win their divisions. So what, the people who were fooled into thinking this cubs team could win this division are fools.
  9. Are you sure about that ?They may be taking different routes, but their ending up at the same place. Eh, at least Hendry has done some things right. Those 2 have never done anything right as GMs. But I would say hes in that company. I would say drafting Channing Frye and Damon Stoudamire where both better than anything Jim has done.
  10. Are you sure about that ?They may be taking different routes, but their ending up at the same place. Throw Millen out. He isn't allowed to spend more money than his opponents. Thus, you don't know how bad he really is. That said Isaiah took a bad team and kept them there. Jimbo took a team on the brisk of being pretty good and turned them into crap. He got lemonade and then urinated in it.
  11. yeah that's the point... stop developing scrubs (note the common thread with those guys - horrible plate discipline) and actually get a minor league system that contributes talent onto the major league squad. Look at the team that's playing tonight, most of the players came from within or in trades for talent they developed (Beckett, Pierre) Our guys are the ones who will pass on Wieters in about a week.
  12. At this point I am thinking trade DLEE for Micahel Bowden, Clay Buccholz, and Jacoby Ellsbury. Aramis for Brandon Wood and ESantana. Just reload this mess.
  13. 5 below .500 and soon to be 6 really gives it all away. No but at some point the Brewers will quit sucking again. We made up what 1 game during their streak. Nice work.
  14. and next year, for us, after we pick up his option. Hopefully Hendry will do that before he gets canned. Kinda like an FU going away gift.
  15. Fire sale. And I mean complete fire sale. We've got to get this noose off our collective neck. We can't do that. We passed out NTCs.
  16. It was a line drive that landed a foot in front of his left foot.He did not have to move,he just plain missed it.Thats a play that should be made. At the very least get your body in front of it. But, it has only led to 2 runs thus far.
  17. Honestly, how many times a year do you hear or hear anyone say, "That was a smart play by Barrett," or "Smart at-bat by Barrett". I know there are lots of people on the board who love him just because offensively he's been one of the better catchers in the NL. But partly because from an offensive standpoint the catcher's position isn't what it was fifteen or twenty years ago, and, think about it, catchers like Ausmus, Pagnozzi, Matheny and Molina have played in more postseason games than Barrett has. Give me a smart catcher and I'll gladly give up offense and find it at another position on the team. I agree, he really hurts our team in a lot more ways than he helps it.
  18. Jesus we field about as well as we run the bases.
  19. There is some of that talent right there. If you have to throw your bat to hit it, you should pry take the walk. But I guess you are here for your D.
  20. Yes there is plenty Lou can do. The talent level is not very very poor. We have the talent to win this division. Do we? For the love of Christ J.J. Hardy has more homers than both Lee and Soraino together. We, like every year, have overrated talent. I am sure we are a beast again on nintendo.
  21. Man we look pathetic up there again. Nice offense you put together Jimbo.
