    Man this sucks, Sean is one of our best prospects, why let Hendry rush him to salvage this year. He is sacrificing our future for his own job and it isn't right.

    You really, really should. Middle relief for our floundering major league club is not worth jeopardizing the future and length of control of possibly our best pitching prospect. I'm a fan. I care about winning. You're talking about a pocketbook problem we face years from now. Who's to say Gallagher won't be open to a deal locking him up long term a few years down the line? It's only a question of dollars. The Cubs have enough and then some. No. It's not just a question of dollars, it's a question of full years that we control him. It's not as if Gallagher was ripping up Iowa but we have no room in the rotation. When he goes back down he's going to need more time to develop, maybe even more than before now that we're screwing with him by promoting him two levels and putting him in a role he's never been in. And, like was mentioned, Gallagher isn't exactly throwing bushels of strikes in AA that he's going to be a great fix for the (nonexistent) problem of walks in middle relief. It's called an extension. You don't have to wait until the last possible moment to offer it (looking at you, Hendry). Lock up your good, young players early. Right like the Indians did, look how bad they are now because of it... Wait they are in fact great.

    I dont know if you're being serious or not, but if you are, then if we got a crappy prospect at least we could let him waste away in the minors as opposed to paying him 4 million dollars to watch him fail time after time. I was totally joking, the GBI thing should have been the point when we canned Hendry.

    We traded a future HOF'er for him. Sad. I'm pretty happy with our rotation's performance outside of Zambrano. Maddux would have only taken up space and salary. Maddux for prospects on the other hand... I would have liked to get Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier for him. If you believe the rumors, they weren't really available. I would have thrown in the necessary prospects along with Maddux to get one of those guys, though. I would have taken their worst prospect instead of taking Izturis and his salary. Yup. At least with a prospect you don't have to pay $4.15M for this year. Oh we will pay next year too. JH will pick up that option before he is canned. A going away gift if you will.

He could just be Benito Santiagoing. Wasn't that steroids too? No, just a freak year in the HR column. Yeah, but Hardy is killing every stat, not just homers. He is like 24 and only had 500 career ABs coming in. I mean avg including the minors. The guy is either cheating or in for a big slump.

    They don't have a choice. The Cubs next off day is 6/18 and their short. Eyre up in the 'pen means they are willing to sacrifice this game. Which is why it hurts having a billion outfielders on the team. Or we could just can Scott Eyre and replace him with a real long reliever. Yeah that was a move that should have been at least a month ago. But we also let Neifi start for 2 years.

    Not one from Hardy or Fielder. Yeah Len Fielder makes sense, but if anyone doesn't think that Hardy doing this isn't "odd" they too should be drug tested.
