  1. makes it easier to lose 6-5 in 15 innings that way
  2. I agree. And if he did decide to charge the mound...Now that would be a fun one to watch. Z would pummel that fat boy.
  3. They don't play baseball like that now. It's really too bad. With his slow trot and all, what do think someone like Gibson, Drysdale or Jenkins would have done to Fielder? Well I am still in my 20's so I really can only go by rep. But, I would imagine they would have drilled most of these guys today. I also imagine they would be suspended a lot now too.
  4. Ever since they got rid of that rule that allows you to drive runs in with your glove, his career has really gone downhill. Wouldn't we see scott moore first?
  5. They don't play baseball like that now. It's really too bad.
  6. nice hit cesar. would be nice to add a few more runs.
  7. Another ball off the glove of our star fielder. God he is overrated as a defender.
  8. Ryan Braun is going to be pretty good.
  9. You still like Reyes? I have heard some discouraging things about him.
  10. They are doing it with Aram also.
  11. Not good enough. I want to see this 98.
  12. Yea.....I guess you could call that "ending poorly".......that big yellow "8" on the big green scoreboard is a sight I will never forget. "Ended Poorly" is really an understatement isnt it? They lost in true Cub fashion.....spectacularly.....painfully......with a good dose of agony and humiliation thrown in for good measure. I guess we are all different, but the only memories I have of that season at this point are bad ones. The only good thing to come out of that year is that it truly sucked a good portion of my "Cub Love" out of me. I still love the team and want them to win.......but I just dont care as much.....and overall.....I consider that a good thing. See I care more. If getting that close felt so good at the time, think what the next two steps would feel like. Hey I am still pretty young, I am in good health. I think I will see one. Call me dumb if you want, but I think we will get one, someday.
  13. Isn't the guy in charge of handing out punishment an old Astro guy?
  14. Nice play cesar, there goes the no-no. Beat him up Z. Oh has Z hit 98 yet?
  15. Are Cubs players ever really just day to day?
  16. Me too. I hope next year when we replace Z with some washed up piece of garbage everyone remembers these type posts.
  17. I would go through that every year if it meant we get all the fun leading up to it. Living it again every year is one thing, mainly because of the hope that it will be different, but going back to a particular year is another. Just reading some of the comments in this thread get me close to welling up. I'll hunt down a copy of the DVD after the Cubs win it all, but until that (fictional) day, I won't be able to relive any of that. Nah, not me. Just the fact that we were really relevant made it worth it. For one year everyone had to shut up and take us seriously. For one year there were no jokes. Sure it ended poorly, but it was still worth it. I only wish we would have taken better care of our pitchers so it could have happened again.
  18. I would go through that every year if it meant we get all the fun leading up to it.
  19. Gary Sheffield does. I don't get it if you're referring to his black and latino ball player comment they are both latino so sheffield really doesn't kno the difference on that note, cubs NEED two out of three and hopefully floyd gets another start and hits me a ball in the right field bleachers Yeah I was thinking Flloyd cause he was hitting.
  20. A healthy Wood and Prior in 2004 would've gotten us a wild card spot, easily. I think we have one world series appearance at least.
  21. Gary Sheffield does. I don't get it Yeah that's cause I messed it up. Doesn't really work in that case.
  22. While drinking the other night my friends were discussing with me what would the cubs last few years have been if these two guys never got hurt. They were baiting me to say we would have won a title. I didn't, but said I thought we would have been able to win 83 games last year.
  23. It was a great game, but I would have loved to have had those two IzTurdis abs back.
