How can you hate the guy? I hate that his career has been derailed by injury, but love Kerry. I feel bad for him he was picked by the Cubs. Kerry will never get the wrath of Cubs fans. Prior on the other hand, he's going to get booed quite a bit whenever he's at Wrigley. I don't dislike him either. Again I feel bad for the guy that he was drafted by the Cubs. You got to hand it to us, we ruined two arms that come around once every ten years for a team. I don't dislike him either, in fact, I love him. But if Prior has bad outings as a Cub, or comes back in a different uniform, I see him getting rained with boos. Well those people, not the ones who "turned on" Barrett are real gems. I love how 16 wins with a 4.02 era aren't good enough for some people, yet they get all fired up over Marquis and Lilly. at the time, $9M per year for a barely above-average pitcher was hardly worth writing home about. Maybe, but it was still our second best.

They also have an owner with an unlimited budget, so they expect to have great results at all times. While I don't agree with the philosophy, I do respect the fact they always want to win.

Yeah, I wonder what Maddux would have to say about the one reason to watch the cubs? Since he did everything he could for three years to not pitch to the guy. Maddux's ERA with the Cubs those three seasons: 4.02, 4.24, 4.69. Barrett did a lot more to help the Cubs win in those seasons than Maddux did. Sure thing like in 04 when Maddux had the most wins on the team? Maddux was pretty valueable for us for the sole reason he was taking the ball everyday while Prior and Wood were out.

Actually with a pitcher like Wells the best tactic is to swing early in the count. Same with Maddux. Even after a walk. Yeah I realize that, but Wells had just thrown a tizzy fit at the umpire. It would have been nice to see him take a pitch.
