  1. he tried, but froemming's magically expanding strike zone didn't allow the walk Yeah.
  2. crap, let petrick hit. Odds are he is a better hitter than Cesar.
  3. He paused, thought about it, then said nah the hell with it I am a union guy and punched him out.
  4. slightly worse pitcher than his brother Yeah, he is in a pretty big club.
  5. Who assigns the umpires to games? I would assume not the commish?
  6. If anyone could explain what the hell was wrong with him besides just being insane, I'll give them a million dollars. I don't want anyone to get defensive...I'm just asking questions. sometimes good pitchers just go into slumps. Batters do the same thing. I'm not sure why everyone assumes that a pitcher is hurt or mentally weak just because he has a string of poor starts. Well with Z, his velocity was down.
  7. No Len, Derrek is not going to make the All Star team. Fielder, Howard, Pujols, and Gonzalez are all having better years.
  8. No he's been pretty solid and I don't think he's showing any signs of injury. I'm just more concerned with the fact that when he doesn't have good command of his breaking ball or it isn't extremely sharp, he has nothing to fall back on. You do realize his start before the last is when SD took batting practice off him right? Yeah but his 5 starts surrounding that one were solid. Nobody can ignore that...I'm just worried that since his struggling seems to be in consecutive starts that there might be some unusual pain or discomfort going on. I'm not trying to pick further fights, just thinking out loud... This start wasn't nearly as bad as the San Diego one. Those guys had to have been stealing signs, or Rich had to have been tipping his pitches. This one was a perfect storm start. Froemming wouldn't give him anything, he didn't have his best stuff, and Floyd killed him with his glove.

  10. Nope, RIch Hill has been awesome 100% of the time since he bacame a starter. You are imagining things.
  11. exactly what he said... nice work Yes that is what he said, look back it has been bolded about three times.
  12. good for his dumps. too bad he hasn't thrown any baseballs with more talent than rich hill yet. Oh yeah I would much rather have Rich Hill than Felix. I really wish Rich Hill was close to the pitcher you think he is. sorry, i thought you valued pitchers on whether they had completed a full year of good pitching. I do, but I also defer to age. When you haven't had a good year at 20, it's because you are young and getting established. When you haven't had one at age 28 it's because you couldn't beat out Glendon Rusch to get a big league spot. yeah, great argument. rusch clearly outpitched hill during that period. man, your arguments are awful. Wait am I the one arguing how Hill has been awesome 100% of the time, when he is in the middle of a start where he gave up 5 runs in 3 innings?

I am not saying it was right, but he did get a few tries to.

  15. Hahahaha. On a board full of hyperbole, this might honestly be the most far fetched and dumbest thing I've ever seen on here. since hill has been made a consistent starter since last season he hasn't been good? He sure as hell wasn't good today, which was the biggest start of the year. So I guess 100% awesome would be a bit off.

  17. he is. were you saying this back in april when zambrano sucked? Yes, because one month is just that. Z has what, 70 wins in his career more than Hill? Oh and he is younger to boot. At no point in his career will Rich HIll be a better pitcher than Z. Here in about another month this season won't even be close. guess the second half of last year doesn't count either? Ok, you guys are right. Rich Hill is better than Carlos Zambrano. Lol. So Rich Hill has what kind of numbers for the second half last year plus this year? Compare them with an average Zambrano year. Oh look another walk. hill has been substantially better than zambrano over the last year. and hill's last year has been substantially better than z's career numbers. and z has only had maybe one year that could compete with hill's last year...and in that season, the only thing z has on hill is era (hill beats him in k/9 and whip). so in other words, you're completely, completely wrong. so yeah...i guess that's that. Right, except that Hill hasn't had a whole season at the big league level yet. But, hey that doesn't matter. Oh and he is 28 and having his first big year. And by big year he is a few more starts away from being on par with Z, who is having his worst year ever so far. whatever. your argument got torn to shreds, so you come back w/ something totally unrelated. it's not hill's fault that it's his first full year in the majors. sorry he's been awesome nearly 100% of the time since he's been made a starter. i guess the guy in your sig sucks too b/c he's never been good in the majors. Felix Hernandez is 20 years old. He takes dumps with more talent than Rich Hill.
  18. He is. None of the 5 runs scored by Milwaukee were a result of his calls. Yeah, like the walk to Hardy in the first. Or when Fielder just stood in front of a 30mph curveball. But, those two guys didn't score.
