  1. Well I sure hope you are wrong. I really want this team to make it and for Kerry to be a part of it. I think he took game 7 in '03 really hard. I hope I'm wrong too. But I just quit caring/paying attention to Wood and Prior a long time ago. I wish I could, but I can't. I can't help but think what could have been.

  3. I think Kerry Wood has a big impact on our playoff chase this year.
  4. The record isn't bad though, I don't think this is the main reason for the spike though.
  5. I think Koyie and Soto should swap places, and Soto should start. I think Hill is out of options, and he's done a pretty good job catching (including that great play picking Sori's throw against the Sox.) Does anyone think a team will claim him though? i sure hope not, he's worthless AAA roster filler... signed as a minor league free agent. If Hill gets sent down and someone claims him, big damn deal. He sucks. I agree, this like DFAing Jacque should be a no-branier.

  7. Yeah but we have to hit Matt Chico. It wouldn't be so bad a start if it was by itself, but he has done this in three of his last four now. He needs to make some adjustments. i don't think anyone is saying that hill hasn't been bad lately. he was really bad today and against the padres. i actually thought he wasn't terrible against the brewers, but he was obviously far from good. the break is coming at a good time for him. The Brewers game was more proof of him tipping pitches. They knew what was coming, but his stuff was still good enough that they could only foul a lot of it off. You don't accidentaly foul what, 37 pitches? in 3 innings off one guy.

  9. Yeah, but he is a cub. He should expect that. Ask Kerry Wood, it happens. Zambrano: 5.64 Marquis: 5.63 Marshall: 5.63 Lilly: 4.70 Hill: 3.49 Maybe Hill will have to get used to it, but nobody else on the staff seems to be having this problem with any regularity. Every team has that one guy each year it seems. Have Hill talk to Matt Cain.
  10. Hah, why am I not surprised that suddenly made an appearance? And that it's no big deal that Hill sucks. Again. and it's no big surprise that hill's biggest critics are reveling in the poor start, and ridiculing those who think he's a good pitcher. I'm not ridiculing anyone, and I certainly don't revel when a Cubs pitcher has a bad start. Oh please: Don't worry, Truffle will find a way. Funny that he calls out abuck for showing up when he himself just shows up to revel in Hill's outing and shove it in people's faces. So is giving up 6 runs to Washington part of my roll? I guess. I bet you do.

  13. Hah, why am I not surprised that suddenly made an appearance? And that it's no big deal that Hill sucks. Again. Cause abuck is dusty to Rich Hill's Shawn Estes. Lol. and people wonder why abuck gloated last year when hill pitched so well in august and september... Christ I was just messing with him, he is obviously tipping his pitches. Hell even the opposing announcer was making a big deal out of it. hey make all the attacks you want, but make sure you show up and take your medicine when rich turns it around. I hope he does.
  14. I think it's the right call, but Hill is leaving the curve up and hanging it. If he could bury it in the lower part he'd get the K. yeah, i was joking...hill looks terrible today. Don Sutton is saying he is tipping his curveball. good thing the cubs have a pitching coach that's all over that. Yeah, it would seem our guy should be able to find it. Hill is holding his glove almost to his face on the curve, but on everything else he is even with the chicago.

Don't stop him. He's on a roll. Was the part about it being hard to get lit up by the Nationals part of the roll?
  17. Hah, why am I not surprised that suddenly made an appearance? And that it's no big deal that Hill sucks. Again. Cause abuck is dusty to Rich Hill's Shawn Estes. Lol. that doesn't make sense. Exactly. I am running on 4 hours sleep the last two days.

  20. Don't worry, Truffle will find a way. nope, made a bad pitch... wasn't hitting his spots the way he should today, especially late in counts when he needs to be forcing guys to swing at bad pitches. That and he is tipping his curveball
  21. It isn't easy to get lit up by the nationals, but aaaa Rich gets it done.
  22. I've always wondered how baseball would be if you were allowed to reuse players. Well, if you could reuse players...you'd have teams hitting a slugger for a slick fielding shortstop every at bat. Not if that ss drove in runs with his glove.
  23. I've always wondered how baseball would be if you were allowed to reuse players. You oculd reuse him if you put him in left for a hitter. :P
