  1. Yep, great call leaving Lilly in. He really has great stuff tonight. Oh and why can't we hit homers like this?
  2. i agree...but hardy grounded out to end the frame, and lilly has only thrown 79 pitches. if our offense continues to blow, maybe we can squeeze two more innings out of good lilly. God, I hate giving away outs though, we are running out of them.
  3. No, they are tied and the Reds have two runners in scoring position. DLEE IS THE MAN 'Oh I see that, I still think they win this division once Pujols gets hot. Why is Lily hitting here?
  4. The cardinals are winning again, I am getting this terrible feeling they are going to win this division again.
  5. I would have ph there. That could have been our best chance to get back in this thing.
  6. Eh it was only $10million lol.
  7. I'd bet Scottie Pippen had the same issue when he came out. He'll get stronger. I think that comparison doesnt make a whole lot of sense. Durant is a big man where Pip wasnt. Durant is going to have a lot bigger people guarding him, and vice versa than what Pip had to deal with. But yes he will get stronger. Yep everyone should pass on him until the9th pick. :P I am sure this won't effect him one iota. Ok you get the other 8 GM's in front of the Bulls to agree to this, and I will forget about him being a pansy  Done and done. I don't think this really matters too much though. They can get that fixed this summer.

  9. He is very fast and can't steal bases well. Stay away from this guy at all costs.
  10. It is going to be fun to watch us get swept without facing Capuano or Sheets.
  11. So you don't think a team with Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, David Ortiz, Chase Utley, and Adam Dunn all batting in a row would finish in last place?
  12. Pedroia has been crushing the ball recently. He's from this area - Woodland which is 10-15 minutes north of Sacramento. The two picks ahead of Grant Johnson were Hunter Pence and Dustin Pedroia. The pick after Johnson was Kurt Suzuki. WTG, Cobs. Pedroia is the type of player I'd love to see the Cubs pick more of - pretty highly regarded college position player with good patience, a somewhat limited ceiling, but also a very attainable ceiling. Lost in the fact that the Red Sox have a ton of money is that they've produced a LOT of big league talent in the past few years. Pedroia, Youkilis, Lester, Murton, Papelbon, Meredith, Bard, Hansen, Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez... it's a solid list. Clay Buchholz is well on his way to Boston too. But, none of those guys you mentioned played at Notre Dame where Hendry's buddy coaches. Or none played for Hendry's old high school. Think of the talent we could have if we didn't have the worst gm ever in charge of our team.
  13. you don't seriously think they're going to grill him on WGN, do you? Not grill...but I was hoping for a little more. Hendry's been pretty accommodating today; he was also live on The Score for about 20 minutes this morning. He knows his time is numbered.
  14. Ha, that is great. Well Kruker told me that Eyre will get it turned around.
  15. He doesn't understand why our team doesn't score a lot of runs. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
  16. No matter what happens we will always have this garbage in the lineup. Jones is a cockroach.
  17. meh, his development isnt going to take him that MUCH further IMO. He is physically mature (hell he was at 17), and he will never be the most agile. He will improve some more, but i dont think he has that much talent that hasnt been already realized. he matured pretty early (in hs) and will prolly get to his peak early as well. He is still going to get better, because he will learn to play the game smarter. He also will get stronger, you do until your 30's.
  18. I would ask him if he wants to go to Boston. Then I would ask for Buccholtz and Bowden. We were great when we had good pitching. Then hire a manager who won't abuse them.
  19. Jesus, the one day I don't watch. We are a mess right now.
  20. Easy Rider Jay Williams says hi. Don't forget about Mark Prior. In a draft with Mauer, Teixeira and Davis Wright in it you just knew the guy the Cubs were going to get wouldn't be worth crap in 5 years.
  21. Wow, that's some pretty poor research. He seriously used Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson as examples of pitchers who do a good job of maintaining their health? Really? How about mentioning that Prior collided with a midget second baseman and getting hit on his pitching arm with a screaming line drive? How about the fact that the Cubs never fired Baker and instead simply chose not to re-new his contract? This guy's a decent writer, but he throws in way too many baseball cliches and baseless statements for my tastes. However, some parts of it just anger me... Once again, poor Dusty. He is the world's biggest victim. Just ask him.
  22. Eh isn't he doing really well right now in AAA. I think he and Hamilton are at least guys who might struggle at the big league level. Bush never hit above .225 anywhere.
  23. Oh yeah we are right up there with the Arizona's and Tampa Bay's of the world. Let's see how some of those prospects turn out. I would be willing to make a nice wager that Justin Upton is better as a big leaguer than anyone we have in our system. Evan Longoria also.
