  1. If it takes 5 years of consistently losing in order to get to a point where you can consistently win, then you aren't consistently winning. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/10/06/article-1318093-0B803914000005DC-954_306x423.jpg
  2. I briefly explained to my wife how good he could wind up being while watching his HR last night, and she was genuinely impressed. I immediately regretted my decision. Yeah, I have started to go on and on about to Baez to some of my Cubs fan friends who don't keep up with this sort of thing. I have to hold myself back a little because, you know, it's the Cubs.
  3. The Pelicans are not good, but holy crap Anthony Davis! What's really scary is he's 21 and barely played a full season's worth of pro basketball. Last night: A. Davis 40 Pts, 21 Reb, 3 Ast, 1 Stl, 3 Blk
  4. If I win Warren Buffett's billion dollar bracket, I promise to buy out all of the rooftop owners. Then go sign Bryce Harper.
  5. Seeing as he is blocking no one right now, I'd rather he be given an opportunity to hopefully get hot with the Cubs for a couple of months then we sell high on him.
  6. Seahawks FA CB Browner visiting with the Saints tomorrow. Wherever he plays next year, he will have to sit out 4 games for suspension. In other news, holy crap could the Saints defense be good next year! Love the direction the team is taking.
  7. Ugh, every fanbase has their meatballs. We had morons going nuts over releasing Roman Harper, Lance Moore, Vilma, etc.
  8. Sad to see him go, but between him and Pierre Thomas, I'd rather keep Pierre. As for Sproles in Philly, is he redundant with McCoy already there? It doesn't seem like the best fit for him as far as touches he'll get. yeah definitely keep Pierre. I REALLY coveted McCluster. Good lord he would have done epic things in Payton's offense. OK, not to go all inside info on you but through my work I have the opportunity to talk with Mickey Loomis sometimes and he will talk football with me. Not that I think he is going to tell me some sensitive info or anything, but I think he shoots me straight. FWIW, they really like K. Robinson at RB. The feeling is that between Thomas, Robinson, Ingram, Cadette and maybe a later round pick they can negate the loss of Sproles. Generally, they are really trying to become a younger, tougher football team and not depend so much on Drew to save the day every week, which I think was demonstrated towards the end of last season. Reading between the lines, I think Rob Ryan's personality is really carrying over to both sides of the ball. Bill Parcells really has Payton's ear this offseason more than ever.

  10. Was that a curveball?
  11. Any advice on how I can watch this online from my laptop? I tried DirectTV's site and MLB's site but didn't see anything.
  12. Give me a break. Let's see how confident you are when your testicles are shriveled like raisins by the time you're 35.
  13. The Graham being classified as a TE situation can't hurt But...they had $1.9mil in cap space before the Byrd signing...they're going to be in cap hell for a long time. This Byrd contract has to be heavily backloaded. Here's the Saints payroll without Byrd added in (no contract details yet): http://overthecap.com/teamcap.php?Team=Saints&Year=2014 Not sure if those numbers reflect Malcom Jenkins leaving for the Eagles, but they are also expected to release Bunkley and Grubbs. Also, Sproles was still on that list.
  14. Love this. Certainly an upgrade over Roman Harper. With Malcom Jenkins gone to Philly, it certainly continues the Saints' offseason trend of getting younger and faster on defense.
  15. Darren McFadden resigns with the Raiders for 1yr/$4M, over $2M of which is incentives. Apparently no one in the league would offer him over the league minimum. Damn, was I wrong about him coming into the draft.
  16. The NL adopted the DH? Kidding. Yeah, that looks about right, although Bonifacio may push out Donnie Murphy.
  17. Dave Gettleman better be damn sure he's getting whoever it is he's after in the NFL draft, because dumping our only receiver worth a [expletive] doesn't make a lick of sense. Releasing Steve Smith makes plenty of sense. Yeah, have to agree that's a good move. Dollars per production just doesn't add up there. Just don't sign Lance Moore. Or Sproles.
  18. Sproles has tons left in the tank. You guys already have Forte though. I never thought he was that great as a returner either.
  19. I get excited every time I see this thread bumped to the top of the page, thinking something is eminent. Sigh.
  20. Vitters may have already packed.
  21. The mobile site there loaded up quickly, but out of curiosity, does CBS Sports' regular site take forever to load for everyone else? Each time there's an article it takes a good 20-30 seconds just for the page to transfer for me, wondering if anyone else has the same problems. Maybe not that long, but yeah, it takes awhile. It's why I don't go there often.
  22. Keep it cumming (sic) boys http://nbchardballtalk.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/greg-maddux-closeup.jpg?w=320 Man, you sure do love spring training baseball!
  23. Lance Moore released by the Saints today. He would be a great #3 receiver for somebody at $4-5M. I have a scary feeling it's going to be Carolina and that will completely suck. See ya Lance.
  24. Rotation of Shark, CJ, Jackson, Wood, Hendricks?
