So if you wanted an indicator of how this offseason is going... In the roster discussion thread we're discussing whether Tanaka's wife wants to be Posh Spice. In the Tanaka thread we're talking about when Japanese women hit menopause. The most active thread in weeks is about Clark the Cub. Slowest offseason ever. -

Not only that, but what stupid wastes of time outs. Um, you might need those later Sean. Also, when push comes to shove Sean just is all too eager to abandon the run. Jeebus.

Starting to geek out about the Saints/Seahawks. There is a path to a Saints win. Sean Payton has to call a game like last week. Everyone has been screaming this since midseason, and he finally did it against the Eagles. Please Sean, more of the same. Whether it's Ingram, Sproles or Robinson we have to get some run production. Drew has to be able to stretch the field, maybe getting Stills or Meacham more involved. Yes, I realize that I am setting myself up for disappointment.

I keep going back and forth on this. While I think he has missed on the deep ball more this year than any time since I've watched him, Drew's problems may be with Payton's play calling. He was at his best when he had Deuce, Mike Bell or Ivory running the ball for him. I don't care how great you are, when you throw the ball 50 times a game you are going to make some mistakes. He can't carry a team the way he has in the past, not with this line.

Apples and oranges. By the time Javy is due to become a free agent one would hope that we are then trying to sustain our success, not add a high dollar free agent to a steaming pile of dung. The financial situation should also be much improved by then.

Texas A&M is liable to have a MAJOR fall next year. How do they make up that 5,000 yards or whatever JFF compiled this year? Also, their defense is a complete trainwreck. Their D will be better next year, but JFF is a lot to replace. How many games did he single-handedly win for them last year? I haven't seen anything like that except maybe Cam.

My friends and I have been discussing Drew Brees recently. They are blaming his recent struggles on a poor O-line, which is a problem, but I really think Drew is slowing down a touch. He is a 5' 11" QB that has excelled due to his athleticism, endless film study and Sean Payton. Now he's having more and more trouble finding throwing lanes over great D-linemen, he isn't eluding the rush as well and he hasn't thrown a great deep ball in a couple of years. Maybe he's just relied too much on Jimmy Graham and doesn't check down as often, which I have also heard. I maintain that he is still great, just not the incredible Drew that we knew in the Super Bowl season. OMC, or anyone else who has watched a lot of Saints games over the years, input on this?

All of that will make it even more glorious when Manziel flames out gloriously in the NFL. I think he'll be a bust in the NFL, but the spiteful side of me want this to be a Marinovich worthy flame-out.
