As big an ass as Petrino was, Houston Nutt was a bigger slimeball. There was infidelity, blackballing Gus Malzahn, having his wife trash 18 year olds all over the internet, ruining a Parade All-American QB's career out of spite, calling NFL coaches to trash former players going into the draft, throwing his coordinators under the bus, then leaving a trail of slime all the way out the door to Ole Miss with his millions in tow. He's worse than Petrino, he just comes across as more of a huckster and less of an [expletive].

James Franklin is a great hire. As for the SEC next year I see BAMA, South Carolina, Auburn and maybe Ole Miss being the class of the conference with LSU, Georgia and maybe Tennessee in the top 25.

Oregon is a top 5 team, no doubt about it. I agree that South Carolina will be a great next year.

Florida has a LONG way to go, which is inexcusable in that state. They just don't have the players on that squad that they used to have.

Looking over that list, IMO, ranked too high are LSU, Georgia and A&M. Ranked too low are South Carolina, UCLA, Ole Miss.

If not Mason, then the Auburn punter is the MVP so far. Every time FSU looks like they may get the momentum, they're looking at having to drive 95 yards.

Damn, I was wrong about this game. Auburn is whipping them on both lines, and FSU keeps making mistakes.

These frigid temps and all of us posting on the mind-numbingly slow Cubs offseason makes me think of The Shining for some reason. All talk and no trades makes Jack a dull boy... -

I'm sorta ambivalent about Marvin Lewis, but Jay Gruden was a pretty terrible play caller today. Dalton was bad but the OC didn't do him any favors.

Brett Favre had one of the strongest arms in the history of the NFL, and no way Manziel's arm is like Favre's. A fairer comparison might be a faster Jake Plummer, IMO. Favre got by with his "gunslinger" approach because he could make all the throws and squeeze the ball between defenders. Manziel throws a decent deep ball (into coverage many times) but he hasn't shown me that he can gun the ball to the receiver when he needs to.

I think ZzzQuil is probably more potent than weed. I took that stuff once and it was not that dissimilar to drinking Absinthe. -

Texas Tech is UA. Still equally ridiculous. Thankfully, the Hogs are out of their Nike contract now and have promised to go back to their traditional look next year.

FWIW: @JasonLaCanfora Gus Malzahn (Auburn) very much a top candidate for CLE. Vandy's James Franklin in the mix. One of them or McDaniels expected to get that job
