  1. Chico Walker played as a utility player for the Chicago Cubs during two separate stints: first from 1982 to 1983 and then from 1987 to 1990. Known for his versatility, Walker could play both infield and outfield positions, making him a valuable asset off the bench. Although he was not a regular starter, his speed and ability to switch-hit provided the Cubs with flexibility. Walker's best season with the Cubs was in 1988, when he hit .274 and stole 20 bases, offering a spark in limited playing time. His role on the team was primarily as a pinch-runner, pinch-hitter, and defensive replacement. Overall, Walker's career with the Cubs was marked by his adaptability and role as a utility player who could fill in as needed across multiple positions.
  2. He did say that, but if we're being real, what he said is probably true for EVERY team. There are always going to be some guys who work harder than others. It's just that the Bears are bringing that to the forefront by openly talking about things that other teams typically don't.
  3. I agree with this, but also I completely understand why it had to be done this way. Logistically, firing Eberflus in-season would be a huge problem. Not only do you have to replace your head coach, but in this case you would have to replace your defensive playcaller as well. And who could even take over as head coach? It would be one thing if they had experienced assistant coaches ready to step in and fill the gap, but I don't see anyone on this staff who could fill that role. Eberflus needs to be fired but, at least for now, he is still the best option to finish out the season.
  4. Mid tier pitching for a mid tier franchise. This checks out.
  5. Bad punt yes, but it was the rush that impacted it.
  6. Off to a great start. I still contend that Bagent would consistently move this offense much better than Williams. (I am not suggesting that Bagent should be playing though)
  7. He doesn't meet the criteria of improving "on the margins."
  8. He is going to look really strange in an Angels uniform.
  9. If Bellinger has another decent year in 2025, I think he is much more likely to opt out next time to sign a multi-year deal going into his age 30 season. He wasn't going to beat the $27.5M the Cubs are going to pay him in 2025, but he would probably be willing to give up 1 year of $25M in exchange for a long term deal. Of course if he gets hurt or regresses further in 2025, then he would opt in again, but hopefully that isn't an issue.
  10. If the players aren't responding to the coach, whose fault is that? The need to replace all the players?
  11. Keenan Allen: 8 targets, 2 receptions That is an indictment on both Williams and Allen.
  12. I don't even know what just happened, but that was hilarious.
  13. Completely irrelevant because of the penalty/safety, but Marcedes Lewis dropped a pass right at his chest. What does this guy do?
  14. I know it's not going to happen, and rightfully so, but I'm really curious what this offense would look like with Bagent at QB.
  15. You doing think the offensive gameplan matters?
  16. Completely inexcusable. Almost as bad as the Hail Mary last week. Fire everyone now.
  17. Keenan Allen is losing himself a lot of money.
  18. How do they not get a play off before the two minute warning after going out of bounds?
  19. I don't really understand the leverage calls. I get not being able to lift yourself up on a teammate, but why can't a guy jump over the offensive lineman?
  20. I know Swift has been pretty good, but I just like the way Johnson runs the ball so much better. He hits the hole fast and hard, no dancing around.
  21. Mercedes Lewis does a lot of dumb stuff for a guy with 30 years in the league.
  22. Bears trailing in the first quarter. Who could have predicted that?
  23. Williams seems just a fraction of a second late delivering some of these balls. He has guys open, but is giving the defense time to close on them.
