    Does he deserve 500-600 Million? Maybe not. But someone is going to give it to him, and I want him on my team.

    That seems to have been the case less often in recent years. If we're not hearing about a deal right at the deadline or a few minutes after, it probably isn't happening.

    I understand the logic, primarily because of the almost certain innings restriction. If the Cubs were going to have Cade Horton at full strength through the rest of the season and the playoffs, I don't think you really consider trading him for a guy with only 2 more seasons of team control. But when their objective is to go big this year, while also keeping an eye on the future, trading some future years of Horton to have Gore now (and for a couple more years after) becomes a possibility. But if you're considering trading Horton, I can't stomach Horton + Caissie. That is too much.

    How many lefties is too many lefties? The answer may very well be, "It doesn't matter" but going into next season with a rotation including Imanaga, Boyd, Steele (hopefully), Gore... That's a lot of lefties. Good pitching is good pitching though, and some of the best available guys just so happen to be left handed.

    That makes a lot more sense. I was a little confused by Happ immediately going to the IL following a negative x-ray, especially with an off day tomorrow. There was no reason to rush an IL decision when they can wait and re-evaluate in a day or two.

    Not just that, but is it really fair to have a guy make his MLB debut with the trade deadline hanging over his head, knowing that he may be headed to another team in 24-48 hours? One way or another, it makes sense to get through the trade deadline and then decide how to proceed from there.

    I could be wrong, but that type of foul ball off the top of the foot, while painful, rarely results in a significant injury. Most likely a bruise and out for a couple days. If he was actually out for awhile, that would be an interesting conundrum.
