  1. Oh don't worry, everyone will put on funny hats after the game and laugh about it because "baseball is supposed to be fun".
  2. Soler has been taking some awful routes to balls lately.
  3. For anyone keeping track, the Starlin Castro OPS-o-meter is now at .578
  4. I wonder what Joe was telling Schwarber there.
  5. This is all the rules say. Isn't "unoccupied base" there referring to a base that is not occupied by a runner? I don't see anything specifically stating that the base must be occupied by a fielder or what defines a fielder occupying the base.
  6. Has anyone been able to find the passage in the MLB rulebook about where the first baseman needs to be in relation to the base to receive a pickoff throw?
  7. That looked to me like it was probably the correct call, but I honestly don't know the details of the rule.
  8. Maybe the home run derby thing really was a bad idea.
  9. Remember that stretch earlier in the year when it felt like no matter how far the Cubs fell behind they were going to come back and make things interesting? How did we go from that to a team where a 1 run deficit feels almost insurmountable?
  10. Is it weird that I really like the persistent PitchTrax graphic on the right side of the screen, but I absolutely hate the ESPN broadcasts with the box on the actual strikezone?
  11. He may not be needed by the time the 8th is over. Soriano hasn't looked very impressive thus far.
  12. as someone else mentioned, chapman threw 44 pitches last night so maybe not Ah, even better.
  13. A smart manager would have Chapman up for Schwarber, right? But we all know we aren't dealing with a smart manager here.
  14. Call me crazy, but I want Herrera playing SS more often than not.
  15. OK Len, that was kinda dumb. There is no way this is a "hit a home run or strike out" situation.
