  2. With what resources? Right now at OF, there is little supply, greater demand, and a higher price since the supply can't meet the demand. 2B- There's no supply, somewhat of a demand unless you're comfortable with Luna, and once again no money. Last year, when he got Grudzielanek, Eckstein, and Molina, they was decent quailty avail. as well as the money to get them or in the case of Molina slide him in there. Don't forget Bo Hart! The fans love him!
  3. Do it Jim! All these Huff rumors shortly after I took him out of my sig. I'm back aboard the Huff BandWGN.
  4. I'm liking the way Jocketty is thinking lately. this is EXACTLY what I was thinking when I started this topic...ol' Walter just doenst seem to have the midas touch this season.... ***knock on wood*** Don't knock too hard, he doesn't need ANOTHER surgery.
  5. So that bid money goes to the NPB team and not to the player?
  6. The longshot proposal could definitely be Abreu. Hendry could easily have thrown a deal on the table and told Philly it was waiting for them when they realize they aren't going to get any front line starter for him from anyone else.
  7. You're not alone. I had quite some man love for the guy. The first game he played for the cubs was the first game I watched the cubs play in years (other then the 03 playoffs). The overall excitement I saw my friends sharing over that trade made me get back into baseball again. Now I live, eat, and breath cubby blue. Sucks to be losing the guy that sparked my interest in the game again. ::ahem::
  8. I'd rather have Burnitz for another year than the Jock.
  9. Maaaan.. you never met no Frank Sinatra... I was walking around a corner in Memphis Tennessee when someone hit me in my chest. I looked up and it was Dr. Martin Luther King! I said, "Dr. King, why'd you do that?" He said, "oops, I thought you were someone else". Awesome. *puts in DVD*
  10. Word is that if they got Glaus, they'd stick him at 1B and hope he could handle it better than Millar. correct
  11. Package Patterson with Williams, Hill, and another of Dope, Sing, or Harvey with cash for Vazquez and Glaus, spin them off to Boston for Manny.
  12. Exactly! Even if George did what some claim he did, who cares? If you have confidential information regarding this or that and you want nobody else to find out, DO NOT CONFIDE IN A REPORTER OR OTHER MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA! There's no claims, George came forward and admitted what happened and apologized for it. Besides, the media gets all kinds of information that is told in confidence. Hendry met with the media every day of the Winter Meetings behind closed doors to explain what was going on so they knew, but not to report it. This confidence is held because as soon as one media member slips some information they're cut off from their sources and labeled loose-lipped.
  13. No, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that Ofman apologized later about telling this story? If so, that wouldn't surprise me. Remember, Kinzer and Hendry (and the Cubs) have an ongoing relationship to consider. Kinzer is also Aramis' agent so it's not a good idea to have a story out there that tries to make the organization look badly. Also, even if the story is false, it would behoove Hendry to ignore it (rather than dispute its merits) because its a lose-lose proposition. Kinzer and JH need to maintain a positive working relationship. He certainly couldn't blast him the way Schurholtz (sp?) did. That's exactly it. After he got the information he reported it, only to find out later that it was told to him in confidence, and that it was not meant for public knowledge. Basically none of us were supposed to have found out what happened behind the scenes, and his big mouth opened up and fired away secrets he wasn't supposed to tell.
  14. Cedeno, Patterson, Hill, and one of Sing, Harvey, or Dopriak plus cash.
  15. Did any of you hear him a few hours after breaking the story? Apparently this information was not meant for public knowledge and he messed up. He apologized to Paul Kinzer and his boss. That's a pretty big no-no. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Score have another reporter soon... Apologies if this was already said.
  16. Corey to the South Side for McCarthy please.
  17. He'd be nice to have around as the pinch running specialist.
  18. So when do we get the rundown of the breifing? I'm a little upset I spent this time waiting to see what the PC was gonna be about instead of eating dinner or playing Madden. Time for work.
  19. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm Thanks! No mal-ware media players for me!
  20. why does WGN need to broadcast via RealPlayer? crap
