  3. I'm not really bothered by much of anything on the internet, but tonight I saw a banner advertising "adult dvds." I know we're trying to promote a very family oriented site and forum here, but I think this particular choice of advertisements is a little inappropriate. Should I post a picture of the screenshot I took? By the way, the link was one click away from adult images. Wouldn't want any children getting links like that from this site.
  4. Double true! Either would be a great pickup considering one of Jones, Murton, or Cedeno (Neifi) could fall pretty hard before the deadline and we'd need that extra punch to get back in the race.
  5. First: How does firing Dan O'Brien adds to the Reds considering moving Adam Dunn? My math isn't too good, but I know firing O'Brien doesn't add to the Reds entertaining trade proposals for Dunn. Second: They traded Sean Casey to open up a spot so that the Reds COULD KEEP Dunn, Kearns, AND Pena. T he next player to possibly go is Ken Griffey, Jr--and not Adam Dunn-- and Junior's contract makes him virtually untradeable. Third: Considering that he is a PURE threat at the plate, and that he has the certain Mark McGwure/Barry Bonds type presence, I highly doubt they'd be interested in package you mention. Now if say the Cubs offer Prior or Zambrano, Rich Hill and Matt Murton (Brian Dopirak), then who knows. But Hill/Welly/Murton/Williams (or Guzman, and Harvey) simply WON'T get it done. Fourth: Something tells me....the Reds are not OVERLY excited about trading Dunn to the Cubs or any other NL Central team, in fear of facing Dunn 19 times a yr. Call me crazy, but there isn't package that the Reds would be tempted to deal Dunn for, UNLESS Prior or Zambrano is in the deal. In other words....let's look at SOME realistic possibilities, cause Dunn ain't happening. Thank you very much. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with all the ideas flying around. You bring up some great points.
  6. Or he could always just leave him at 1B where he is slated to play this year. Lyke no wai!1 teh cobs r gun get r Dunn lolz!
  7. What'd I say? You should take it easy, man. It's funny that you would actually go out of your way to find a Dunn trade reference and comment on it. Just chill out, let people dream. By the way, I love the Tobias quote. Trust me, I didn't have to go out of my way. There's at least one Dunn trade idea in every thread in this forum*. *An exaggeration.
  8. Thanks, I just spit Gatorade all over my monitor.
  9. 2001 Miller > 2005 Ponson 2006 Miller = Allen Benes And what does the 2006 Ponson equal? Cheeseburger? and a case of Bud?
  10. I've wanted Branyan for a while. He's a great bench option. Hopefully he'll agree to a NRI or Minor League contract.
  11. Sure they were available, but not to us. I think the team has improved, but only marginally. I'm not saying that Hendry has done no wrong, but he could have done much worse. And yes the offseason is still quite young and there's plenty of room to make much needed upgrades. Unfortunately the only upgrade I'd like to see is RF, but that pretty much isn't happening. Okay, maybe another quality starter, then I'd call it an offseason.
  12. This is so true, and not just for Hendry. It seems that anyone who doesn't spend like the Yanks or the BoSox had a bad offseason. How were the ChiSox graded last offseason? Articles like this are no win situations for the GMs. He gave the Sox an A. LAST offseason? Everyone was calling for Kenny's head when he traded Carlos Lee. BBB - I'd love to see (or have seen) a move for one of Abreu (especially), Tejada, Manny, Floyd, or Huff, but the demads were entirely too high. Would you have traded Prior for Tejada? Zambrano for Abreu? I don't blame Hendry at all for not making those desperation trades.
  13. Orlando Hudson - I'd rather have Walker Brad Wilkerson - You're right about him X Nady - Where would he play? Bradley - Right on. Javier Vazquez - We couldn't have given up what the Sox did to get him. Edgar Renteria - Would've taken Pie and then some. Adam Eaton - Good point Josh Beckett - Not enough to trade for him if it took Hanley. Luis Castillo - Maayyyybe. For the cost I'd still rather see Walker. The Fonz - No thanks. Mark Loretta - Walker.
  14. He writes these articles being critical of Hendry's moves (or lack thereof) but never once makes a suggestion as to how he would have handled things. What did he want Hendry to do? There was next to nothing available this offseason. Look around the league, who made moves we should have gotten into (except for Milton Bradley, that was a bad non-move)?
  15. What are the dates of the WBC? I hope I don't miss out on seeing people when I fly down to ST.
  16. 29 by my count
  17. I personally think this is really great news. It's good to hear that Hendry (and Baker) aren't seriously considering the rumors flying around this site and others. It looks like Hendry actually has a plan for this team and isn't in panic mode.
  18. What's with the current trend of losing names on the back of jerseys?
  19. Watching him pitch, it's not completely him not throwing strikes. It's umpires not knowing how to judge a ball that moves that much. When it hits the front of the plate at the guy's belt and is at his ankles as it crosses the back of it it's tough to call. Once umps get a feel for his pitches (gets Maddux-like calls) he'll be set.
  20. You know I'll stop proposing Dunn trades but I refuse to put away the drugs. That's fine. Just as long as the drugs don't throw you into psychotic episodes which involve wacky trades.
  21. Can this be the official Pats hatred thread?
  22. What's the minimum IPs for the list?
