  1. Unless I'm mistaken, Blanco has been out for 60 already and Guzman is right there too. I wouldn't be surprised to see either moved to the 60 day DL. If Gooz isn't there yet, Blanco will be moved, and Gooz when Blanco is ready to be activated.
  2. Given the information to this point, I'd probably just go with option #1. However, it'd be a lot easier to figure out if you posted the rest of your team. Without the context of your team, it's fairly hard to figure out a course of action.
  3. Isn't that what you just did?
  4. I'm very exicted about this. Though I find myself wondering if he's worth picking up in my fantasy league if it means I have to drop Bill Hall. Upton probably wont be top-tier for a couple years, but I still can't resist the urge to go ahead and grab him.
  5. We've all been there... there's no shame in it.
  6. So Soriano doesn't count? (Maybe you're thinking he's past his prime...) 31 at the start of an 8 year deal? Yeah.... Santana would be 30 and a pitcher. Pitchers prime and position player primes don't really match up. For guys who actually make it through their early-to-mid twenties intact, I believe the prime years are generally considered to be around 30-31. Although I may be way off there. 29-30 for pitchers. Santanas going to be a huge injury risk with the innings getting up there routinely. The Twins have done a remarkable job keeping his pitch count down though. PAP Rank 2004 - 72 2005 - 71 2006 - 70 2007 - 47 Yeah, he's racked up a lot of innings, but it helps that he's not facing many batters each inning on account of his tiny WHIP, which has kept his pitch count low enough that the innings aren't so scary. I wouldn't call him a huge injury risk, though there is a non-negligible risk there.
  7. I'd say Howry is underperforming a tad, but with relievers being so volitile, I don't see much of a problem with the list.
  8. Every single person traded now has to pass through waivers if they're on the 40 man roster.
  9. How many infielders do they need? My bad, it was the Tigers.....but they have Guillen? Guillen is moving to 1B next year.
  10. Just get on the Cubs bandwagon? We're getting Griffey...the announcement will be at 3:59 EST It doesn't have to be announced before the deadline. We didn't hear about Maddux being traded last year til about a half hour after the deadline passed.
  11. Macowiak is more of a utility player than a 3B.
  12. What happens if we want to watch the game and not have it look like 1972? See, I don't even know what WCIU looks like; so I don't know if that's a rip on WCIU, CSN, or WGN.
  13. How'd you know that was my birthday?
  14. What idiot decided to air the game on WCIU the day of the trade deadline? I'm sure the Nomar deal alone boosted ratings for that first game by a bunch. What happens if we trade for a big name and nobody gets to watch that magical first game? Idiots.
  15. Frank Robinson preferred guys like Nook Logan in his outfield to actual ballplayers.
  16. Thanks for the scoop, Derwood. Hopefully this one turns out true, as I've been a huge fan of Church (the ballplayer, not the person) for a good long while.
  17. Leave it to rotoworld to put everything in perspective. Which version of Theriot are we gonna get the rest of the way? Do you really wanna risk getting the one from earlier this season? And you want Ronny Cedeno is start with his .150 average? I think I stated quite clearly before that we should make a move for a guy like Renteria. You do realize that the Braves are in the same playoff hunt as the Cubs? They're no way they're going to give the Cubs Renteria for basically prospects. Maybe if the Cubs were in the AL. Did you even bother reading my earlier post? JS absolutely loves Yunel Escobar, and has been offering up Edgar Renteria in deals for starting pitchers like Jon Garland because he feels comfortable with what he has to cover SS. Atlanta has been talking to Cinci trying to get Arroyo. I think that's the perfect situation for a three-way trade. Renteria to the Cubs, Arroyo to the Braves, and Cubs prospects to Cinci and perhaps another prospect to the Braves.

  20. C, SS, and CF Would you like to tell me who's avaliable in those positions because I don't see very many options there. Some upper-mid level options that could certainly be had? Ramon Hernandez, Edgar Renteria, and Torii Hunter. Before you get to it, I know you'll doubt Edgar Renteria, but everything I've heard indicates that Atlanta is willing to part with him for some starting pitching. Schuerholz is apparently real high on Yunel Escobar. We could work a three-way deal with Cinci where Arroyo goes to Atlanta, Renteria comes here, and our prospects go to Cinci, and maybe another to Atlanta.
  21. I don't think he can block a deal the the BoSox.
