  1. Rizzo and Bryant are on MLB TV right now. I meant to type MLB Network. Sorry!
  2. I believe his option was for 5m, which we all expected him to decline since he is definitely more valuable than that.
  3. Okay, I am alive. I just checked my pulse and got confirmation. It took me until now to regain my senses and retrieve all the cars we left at the bar last night. Uber picked us up at 3:30am California time and I suppose it was a good call to have them take us home because our Uber driver got pulled over right in front of us. I feel a bit stupid buying the entire bar (mostly Padres fans and not Cub fans) a round of drinks when A) the place was packed and B) I didn't even know some of them, but a lot of them were cheering for the Cubs and helping make the night pretty special so far away from Chicago. My bar tab was $450 (including the tip), but I guess I got off cheep in relation to what people were paying to get into game 7. So many things to take away from this game. Things I hated, but also things I loved. Many or all have probably been talked about here since we are nearing Brian Roberts trade thread territory. Bryant's smile before he even snagged that slow grounder was simply amazing. Ross hitting that home run off of Miller. Rain delaying the game. Baez and Ross both making up for their fielding gaffs with home runs. Schwarber getting that hit, and then Almora taking 2nd on that fly ball which set up everything that happened next. I absolutely loved that game. Glad it's recorded, because I do want to watch it again, sober this time. I love you all. Life is good and the Cubs are the World Series Champions!
  4. Mrs. BigbadB asked me to paint the guest bedroom last night, so I missed the game. Who won and who's pitching tonight?
  5. Welcome back! Go Cubs!
  6. I'm speechless by these stats. And with a bunch of shut out games tossed in there. We beat Bumgarner. We beat Kershaw. Tonight, we beat Kluber.
  7. Good point. But this isn't weekend golf. We'll be moving along at a pretty good pace and I'll be bragging about the Cubs all day and sharing in the insults as we critique each other's golf games.
  8. Didn't need an alarm today, so I didn't bother setting one. Straightening up the house a bit for an overnight guest then picking him up at the airport and off to the golf course where our round should end about half an hour before game time. Then it's either the bar (good seats and sound will be a must) or home to watch Hendricks be Hendricks and the Cubs bats continue to hammer Cleveland into submission. Mrs. BigbadB did not really send me out for food last night. She was celebrating each moment of that game with me. I'm really glad I have a tee time today. I don't care how good I play, I just want the day to hurry up and be 5pm. All of my San Diego friends are cheering for the Cubs.
  9. I hope you endure the day well, but remember what's in store for you guys... image Hey, I'll be destroyed with a Cleveland loss, but I will be legitimately happy for you guys. The Cavs title brought me so, so much happiness. LBJ coming back, the Kevin Love narratives, golden state's perfect season, the unexpected comeback. It was the most amazing sporting memory I'll ever have. I want you guys to lose by a lot, but knowing a great fan base gets to feel that same thing will give me something to take solace in. And, if you guys don't win, it'll happen in this core's playing days. They're so good, and so fun to watch when you're not playing them (and they're hitting). Let's all go throw up and play extras tomorrow. Good luck! :hello: Extras? You must be out yo damn mind!
  10. What a beautiful game thread! Tomorrow is going to be so legendary.
  11. I'm just as confident about tomorrow night as I was about tonight's game. Kluber is going to be off his game with all of this pressure riding on his shoulders.
  12. Who are you and why are you here? He's been here a long time. Indian fans like Mike are welcome here.
  13. How many White Sox fans are at the Blackhawks game tonight?
  14. Lot of White Sox fans at the Blackhawks game tonight.
  15. Wife made me go pick up dinner so I missed the first three innings. What's happening?
  16. We kicked Cleveland's ass in National anthems. Like 4000-0.
  17. Appreciate you joining us, but seems kind of strange to go out of your way to bring negativity to the thread. OTHER USERS POSTING FROM THIS IP POSTS tawfiqmp That's awesome!
  18. I haven't more confident about the Cubs chances of winning a game all season. Not quite sure why I feel this way, but why ruin it with negativity?
  19. Not sure if I totally believe the "wildness by design" dialogue from Arrieta's last outing, but it won't matter. Jake is going to mow these fools down.
  20. What's funny is that I'm oddly calm about it. Probably because this is what I expected all year, so seeing this scene is like "yeah, that's right. This is what is supposed to be happening", not "holy horsefeathers, I can't believe this!" I'm calm too. But I'm in the comforts of my own home and there is only one other Cub fan in the building. If I was in Chicago, the atmosphere would be so electric I'm not sure I could stay calm. I'm jealous of everyone there.
  21. I heard there was a fire at O'Hare causing problems for people trying to get to Wrigley. That would suck.
  22. I'm way older than Grandpa Ross, but I have no problem calling him that.
