  1. There's a halfway decent chance he starts next Monday night. And whenever he does start, Bears fans will flock to the stadium and the TV. But it will only take 2-3 disappointing games for all hope to be lost. How the hell did I not notice this post? I even had read past it. I was mostly being facetious. I'm tired of waiting. I won't say last night's game was a winnable game, but this team very easily could have been 2-2 after last night with positive vibes instead of what now appears to be a full on horsefeathers show.
  2. When Trubisky ever does start, no one will notice because the Bears do not deserve prime time national games and Bears fans will have given up waiting.
  3. 1. Don't buy it. 3 games is enough to know he's not a starter in this league. He's got 18 million reasons to be thankful for the opportunity he got and didn't deserve to begin with. 2. A win in spite of his horrible play. 3. OK. Fair enough. This is the only point I'm buying. 4. He's going to have to face a tough team sooner or later. He's going to lose sooner or later. He's going to get hit sooner or later. 5. No team has more drops in the first three weeks than the Bears, and it's a runaway. This is in no way support of starting Glennon, as I already made my opinion known above, but I could see the coaching staff coupling in that info along with 1-4.
  4. I predict they start with Glennon on Thursday and finish with Trubisky. Either because Neanderthal Man killed the non moving target that is Glennon, or because of his futile passing game. This way they don't have to play their hand with GB.
  5. Quintin Demps out indefinitely with a broken arm.
  6. Sadly, I'd take any one of the former Bear QB's (still playing regularly) Cutler, McCown or Hoyer over Glennon. The Raiders looked absolutely horrible against Washington. Beaten badly in every aspect of the game. Weird. There have been a lot of games in just 3 weeks where an underdog dominates and the other team doesn't have an answer.
  7. Just read through the game thread. Holy crap, Tim. The arguing over whether this team has a good running game is odd. Howard has been playing through a sprained AC joint, opposing teams are stacking the line against the run and they are staying in games in spite of no passing game whatsoever. Page after page of arguing whether someone used the term "elite" properly in a sentence was painful to read. I literally blew out my flip flop on that Cooper return. When i saw him stop and the ball get dislodged before he was in the end zone, I turned out of my bar stool so angrily, my flip flop dragged the carpet and snapped the strap. Had to have the wife bring a back up pair of flops so that I didn't have to walk funny all day. Some great points brought up in this thread in general. Personally, I've seen enough of Glennon. I'm not even sure he's good at holding the clipboard at this point. I'm not sure this team is ready to compete for a playoff spot as is, but Glennon certainly doesn't give them that opportunity. Short week against a division rival isn't the most ideal situation, but we could be without Howard on Thursday. Bring Gentry back if Howard can't go, and you have one more guy in the lineup that Trubisky is comfortable with. Now that Shaheen has gotten his feet wet, maybe some familiar personnel and playing a more balanced offense will throw the Packers off of planning to stop the run. I do agree that they shouldn't announce the QB change. I was pretty impressed with the defense in general, but I did get similarly aggro (not enough to blow out another flip flop) when they decided one on one with no one else in the general area on Antonio Brown for that Steeler TD. They could have lined someone up to take away that passing lane at the very least. They weren't getting great pressure on Ben, but he was feeling pressure even when it wasn't there. He unloaded on a lot of throws earlier than necessary.
  8. The Raiders game was fun, because I witnessed not one, but two defensive plays that were flagged for 15 yards on clean tackles.
  9. That game was painful. When Glennon finally did start finding open receivers, they couldn't catch the ball. Being Tampa's first game, I don't have a feel on whether they are just that good against the run or they just played as if the only thing they had to do defensively was protect against the run. The offense has been way too one dimensional and opposing defenses stand at the ready. Part of what I felt Kansas City did to beat New England in week 1 was step out of the box of safe plays. They opened up the field and New England prepped for short yardage plays and got burned over and over. I found myself getting up to take a leak during the Bears possessions when I can typically handle that task during commercial breaks. I found it rather painful knowing that Howard was lining up as a receiver at one point yesterday. I just don't understand how an NFL team can be so lost at one position that you have to employ someone, who doesn't even do that job, just to field 11 players.
  10. So one pass beyond 10 yards before Atlanta went into prevent defense. Unbelievable.
  11. Lots of people knocked out of survivor pools last week taking New England at home and Houston over Jacksonville. Some crazy spreads for NFL games this week with 6 games at more than a TD.
  12. Their defense looked ridiculous yesterday, even without Donald in there. Of course, it was Scott Tolzien or whatever his name is.
  13. I thought the defense played great. The Hooper 88 yarder was unfortunate, but that's really the one play that hurt. They almost got to Ryan on that play. They almost got to him on the keeper that went for a first down. Ryan is just amazing in pressure situations. The receiver situation was about as bad as I assumed it would be. However, Glennon didn't look comfortable out there at all. I suppose a lot of it has to do with the fact he hasn't started an NFL game in a really long time and just needs reps back there in real game situations. Hopefully the prevent defense on the final drives helps his confidence and he starts being a little more trusting of his pocket protection. I'm just not even sad about Kevin White. On the field or off the field, he just doesn't appear to be a factor. I haven't been a big fan of Marcus Wheaton in his previous NFL experience, but I'm pretty sure he is better than Kevin White. And I'll go ahead and say he was better than Kevin White yesterday since he didn't drop a simple pass or get injured for the whole season.
  14. Damn all of you! These last few posts have me all excited about this season and I'm gonna sound like an idiot talking up my Bears before games start today. Truth be told, I am excited about this defense if they can get everyone healthy. Or at least most everyone since having everyone healthy is not a thing. I loved Fangio's defense in San Fran and that's what sold me on the shift to the 3-4. There are a lot of guys on this front 7 that can get penetration, which is just gonna make everyone else look better. The offensive line should provide great protection and create holes for the running game. I'm just worried that they stay too one dimensional on the ground, allowing the defense to stack the line. If the Bears can move the ball in the air, I think they have a good chance to win this game.
  15. The first 7 minutes of that game gave the impression of a Patriots blowout. Some crucial penalties, a couple of dropped passes and a huge 4th and 1 stop and the momentum swung hard KC's way and they never looked back. Alex Smith faked everyone out by stepping out of his ball control offense and went deep early and often. That game was fun. It was fun seeing the bewilderment on the faces of Patriots fans. It was almost as if the look on their faces said "who do we cheer for now, because this team sucks!".
  16. Loggains is gonna throw the ball, don't worry. Sounds like Wheaton won't be ready to go this week. 3 wides will be White, Wright and ?? Thompson or Bellamy I guess. If Wheaton is out, is Tre McBride the only other active WR? Do you think Shaheen is 3rd or 4th on the depth chart behind Miller and Sims?
  17. Have you tried the M3? I tried one but it was a senior flex (or as they call it "M for mature" flex) and it felt like a buggy whip. I liked the way the club head set up. No. I haven't tried anything newer than the Rocketballz, and I didn't even buy the Rocketballz 3 wood new. I bought it from a friend who bought the M3. I'll try to hit his tomorrow. Now that I have a 3 iron that I can hit 220-230, I only even bother with my 3w once a round at the most.
  18. It's the one club in my bag I never know what to expect on contact. Mine is a RocketBallz 3 wood. With all Taylor Mades other than 60 and 64 degree Cleveland wedges, I try not to make my bag look like a complete mish mash, but I've yet to find a Taylor Made 3 wood that I feel comfortable with.
  19. The schedule makes it hard to expect this team to be good, but other than the receivers, I like this team quite a bit. I think Kendall Wright can create separation on short slant routes, but I honestly have no idea what to expect out of Kevin White, Marcus Wheaton, Deonte Thompson and Josh Bellamy. Cutler was able to move the ball with Bellamy, an unknown at the time Cam Meredith and a group of other unknowns, but now it's Glennon trying to find openings. I fully expect to see an Alex Smith ball control style offense where no ball is thrown more than 10 yards which is going to really hurt the chances of the running game being good. I really want to see this defense. I think they have a chance to be really good.
  20. If Glennon gets hurt against a top ranked defense, I think I'd rather see Sanchez out there than Trubisky getting his first NFL experience as the only other option on the roster.
  21. Deiondre Hall went on IR and John Jenkins was signed to replace him on the roster. In other moves, the Bears have signed wide receiver Tanner Gentry, tackle Brandon Greene, tackle Dieugot Joseph, nose tackle Rashaad Coward, linebacker Jonathan Anderson, linebacker John Timu, linebacker Isaiah Irving, safety DeAndre Houston-Carson and guard Cameron Lee to the practice squad. All were on the Bears roster this offseason except for Lee, who spent time with the Saints and Bengals.
  22. So Jeremy Langford got cut and Taquan Mizzell RB and Tre McBride were signed. Gentry passed through and made the practice squad. I would have thought Langford might have had some 7th round value at worst.
  23. I wonder if they could snag Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers. He seems like an odd man out at this point with Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, Travis Benjamin and Mike Williams likely ahead of him on the depth chart. He's a big target that played well in place of injured Keenan Allen last year. Other than Inman, seems like there isn't going to be a lot of talent in the receiver department available after today's cuts.
  24. Week 3 throwbacks against Pittsburgh probably means those hideous prison bumble bee uniforms for Pitt. Ughh!
