    Week 10

Whoa. I thought this year was Laffey's first season. Never knew he had any starts prior to this year.

    Week 10

Alright, I need to confirm whether my roster moves today are legal, as I am not one that likes to skirt or disobey rules. Another [expletive] player on my roster hit the DL today, making my DL better than the team I'm currently running out there everyday. I now have a DL that consists of Matt Holliday, Vernon Wells, Carlos Pena, Kelvim Escobar and Troy Percival. I moved Pena to my reserve list and signed Aubrey Huff to play 1b. I cut Mike Cameron who I actually had active in my outfield. I sent Aaron Laffey (7 starts) to the minors and called up Wladimir Balentien to take Cameron's roster spot. Technically, I now have 2 guys in my new line up and I'm not sure if that's allowed. I had already cut Cameron before I realized I could still send Laffey to my minor leagues and to get him back now would cost my waiver order slot. Had I known beforehand that I could just send Laffey to the minors, I would have just done that rather than cutting Cameron. It's probably too late now to get Cameron back, so I need confirmation on what I should do? EDA: the moves today were made too late. Cameron will still be in my line up today, but Milwaukee is off today, so the Cameron drop for Balentien won't happen until tomorrow. EDA#2: The moves were made on time, but Balentien was off today like Cameron was.

    Week 10

Cool. Another team looks to set a scoring record against my team this week.
  4. You probably did. On Monday, we were right in line with the Chicago feed when lefty hitters were at the plate. On Tuesday, we were right in line with the San Diego feed when lefties were at the plate. Last night was a different story. We were in the second level just fair of the RF foul pole. Met Vance last night before the game. Edit: Oh wait, you posted that this morning. No, you probably didn't see me last night. Vance thought he saw me too, and called to see if it was us. He was way off.
  5. I wouldn't know. I haven't been to a Sea World in about 30 years or longer.
  6. Just got off the phone with Vance. Sounds like they got a little wet at Sea World today.
  7. Sorry I missed the recent posts. We'll be at the Yardhouse at 5th and Broadway around 5:30pm tonight if anyone happens to see this. Vance, I'll call you so we can meet up since we are going super early.
  8. I actually had to use my windshield wipers a few times today because it's so moist.
  9. This probably favors Maddux. I really don't want to face him in a park like this. We can't hit HRs off him easily, and he won't walk us. Let's hope for some BABIP magic. Actually, if you can hit a shot down the lines, it's pretty easty to clear the fence. They have a really short porch in RF (even though we don't have many lefty hitters) right inside the foul pole and it's not all that deep down the left field line (329 ft.) I believe. Cubs are unbeaten when I'm in attendance this year, so have no fears, I will be there.
  10. June gloom is in full force for tonight. The air is very heavy with moisture, so runs will be very scarce tonight. I won't have a problem with hit and runs or sacrifices tonight. Anything to get an advantage on the dynamics of tonight's game.
  11. Yay. The Saturday game will likely be the Fox game of the week in my neck of the woods.
  12. I don't remember seeing him play on Monday.
  13. From where I was sitting, it looked like Lou was reading Marquis the riot act.
  14. I guess the one trade I wouldn't mind having back is Ervin Santana for Edwin Encarnacion. Ervin's breakout year was supposed to be last year and after the pain he put me through, I figured cutting bait was the best approach going into this year. Besides, I had plenty of pitching worth keeping ahead of Santana. Now Edwin is putting me through a lot of pain. But, he only has a week or two left on my roster, so I should soon have relief.
  15. Conor has been better than the 1b I kept.
  16. Without researching, the guy who comes to mind most quickly is Jerry Reuss.
  17. I'm happy with all the trades I have made.
  18. Ted Leitner or Jerry Coleman? I don't think either sounds like Lou.
  19. And not a very good one. Cubs should destroy this guy tonight. Meanwhile, I sense a decent start for Marquis tonight. Gonzalez cashed in all of his chips for this series last night on Marmol and Zambrano.
  20. The boos were pretty loud for Edmonds last night at Petco.
  21. We are meeting up at a bar called "The Library" at 4:45 and then heading downtown to eat and drink at a restaraunt where a friend of ours works prior to the game. We have someone else's season tickets tonight, but I don't think they are nearly as good as the seats I had last night. Give me a call if you end up getting tickets to tonight's game. Oh, and the guy who gave me the seats last night should be able to get us into the Miller Beer booth tonight.
  22. If Edmonds keeps hitting the way he has lately, I think I might eventually come around to him wearing Cubbie blue.
  23. Yeah, I don't get why Cedeno sees so little playing time right now. Wasn't the big excuse last year that Theriot wore out last season as his offensive production plummeted? Why not let Cedeno spell Theriot more often to save Theriot from wearing down? Of course, I never bought into that excuse, but Theriot has earned his place in the starting line up, but why not let him get some occasional rest from a guy who can field the position better than Theriot can.
  24. Great game. Giles broken bat off Marmol hit a kid at the end of my row. A 70+ old lady took a rocket foul ball by DeRo off the fingertips a few rows behind me. Someone brought her the ball. That was cool.
  25. Well if you got a DVR, you won't need pics. You can just watch the game over and over. ;)
