    Week 12

I'm definitely interested in talking trade, but I'll be gone all day today. I will have some time this evening. I have lots to offer right now.

    Week 12

In hindsight, I wish I had benched my entire pitching staff this week. Well, I wouldn't need to bench Trevor Hoffman since the Padres never have the lead late in the game.

It was only temporary. It was back within 5 minutes of other internet browsing.

Anyone else getting errors accessing Roadkill?
  5. Time to build on that fine record at home.
  6. Something really bad will have to happen before they put an end to this silly practice. But, as unfortunate as that is, something really bad will likely happen sooner rather than later. The NFL is probably at wits end on San Diego Charger/Oakland Raider matchups. They've already done away with serving alcohol for any part of games when these two teams play, mainly because fans cannot control their behavior. Reading the articles in the Sun Times and the comments made by Kenny Williams and John Danks only fuels the fire for something really ugly to happen. I fully expect to read some horrific stories in the paper on Monday on the horrific behaviors of people at a ballgame, which is a real shame.
  7. I saw a Kasey Ignarski shout out at the end of the Pedro Martinez article towards the end of the Cubs Uniform History article. Wasn't he a poster here at one time?
  8. The simple fact that Zambrano was driving is a good sign, IMO.
  9. No. It doesn't worry me. They are saving the wins against the good teams for the playoffs and beyond. This is a good strategy. Don't show the teams you will potentially be playing in the more meaningful game all of your cards. :P
  10. OMC isn't providing nearly enough details. There's no real story. A leg in motion met an arm in motion. You broke your arm playing Naked Twister?
  11. That's why I was asking. I think my arm might be broken, but I'm obviously able to type, so I didn't know if you could type with a broken arm. Could be just a fracture. Best bet is to get it checked out asap. Well, after the game anyway.
  12. It's probably not his own arm, as he would know whether or not he can move his hand and fingers.
  13. Yes. You can still move your hand and fingers if you break your arm.
  14. I'd lose my mind if I spent any quality time in these game threads. Back to "just" watching the game. See ya! Oh, go Cubs!
  15. It's now pretty clear how much Reed Johnson means to this team. :D
  16. I was worried about this happening. San Diego, among other teams, doesn't have a CF at all, and even they haven't bit on Coco Crisp. Boston was trying to move him for months. Not so much now that Ortiz has been out and Ramirez was nursing a sore leg, but they want Ellsbury in there everyday. Rich Hill and Matt Murton for Crisp and his contract? Oy. That's bad.
  17. Someone needs an ass chewin'. Fundamental baseball, people. Come on.
  18. And I have zero problem with removing interleague play altogether. Let those bozos in the AL have their DH and leave the NL alone.
  19. Shields is tough to hit. But, he is coming off his worst outing of the season and a short suspension. Sonnanstine should be beatable, especially with Zambrano on the hill. Kazmir? Should see the return of Murton tonight. I hope he has a good game against a tough lefty. It also appeared as though Shields might have roughed up his pitching shoulder a bit in the Coco Crisp brawl.

    What, no Santana or Lackey?
  21. I would actually be in favor of this if it was determined the opposing team is responsible for the player needing to leave the game due to an injury. For example, high take out slides at 2b where the fielder needs treatment for a cut or the pitcher beaning a hitter, etc...
  22. You think that story is amazing, just you wait. I'm currently mastering computer on-line baseball in hopes of becoming the next Chris Moneymaker, but in MLB. And when I make the HOF, I won't sell the rights to my story. I'll just write it myself since I write so eloquently.
  23. The rules are fine just the way they are. Old players who can no longer play the field have a place in this league, just like old lefties who can't throw a ball past a right handed hitter have a place in this league. Never thought I'd see the day when someone would be more whiney than George Steinbrenner. If Hank wants a change, maybe he should ask the Mets if they'd be willing to swap leagues. Good luck with that.

    Week 12

There's a whole list of transactions you can look through so you don't make that mistake. Since we are offering up players in trade, Adam, do you have any interest in Trevor Hoffman?
