Its only like 2.2M for this year. Yeah, 2.2m this year and 7m next year? Someone has to sign off on this budget increase. I'm just glad that someone is doing it.
Agreed. However, some of these players they are after aren't very scare worthy, and are arguably not as good as the players they would be trading, IMO.
Color me ecstatic about this deal. I'm trying to figure out who is absorbing this hit to the wallet and I'm thankful they are willing to make it happen. The Cubs are in a position to go for it, and I'm thrilled they have the door open to do everything necessary to increase the chances of making to the postseason and beyond. =D>
Pitching starts are very unpredictable. You had a 3 to 1 pitching advantage against me on Sunday, and I ended up with more pitching points on the day. Every team has at least 5 starters and most have closer to 6. Only 5th starters will likely miss starts next week, so I think it will be fun to have a middle of the season dash for the cash. I'd rather have the week than not have it, and I have a pretty tough opponent in Raisin. I'd rather see a 5 start limit placed on teams than skip the week altogether.
I thought he was going to be in perfect position to start the ASG. This pretty much puts both Lincecum and Demp out of the ASG. I don't think it will take anyone out of the All Star Game. Pitchers will likely only be going an inning a piece, so consider their all star appearances to be nothing more than the equvilent of a side session between starts. The list of pitchers who would not be pitching in the All Star game would be much more lengthy then Lincecum and Demp if you took out every pitcher who pitches on Sunday. Brandon Webb is pitching Sunday and he's the All Star Game starter. If anything, pitchers who will be pitching in the All Star game who also pitch on Sunday will likely get pulled early from their Sunday starts, which is a good thing when you are scheduled to face Lincecum.
Oakland would be stupid to deal right now. They have a much better run differential than the Angels, which means the Angels have been much luckier than the A's to date winning games.
I was happy to read that Brandon Webb is being bumped up to Tuesday for a 2 start week, but you have to figure that the second start will be a fairly short one considering he'll be pitching in the All Star game and they'll want to give him an early start to kick off the second half.
I'll just say this: "Hey FOX, nobody cares about your pathetic black-out Saturday baseball games. I can count on one hand the amount of West Coast people that even tuned into your Boston/New York game today, and I wasn't one of them. I know of a place where you can shove the rest of this season's broadcasts."
Mine has 3 moveable weights, but yeah, that's probably the one you have. Wow, I was hitting bombs yesterday. I hit too many on the range and got too worn out to hit 'em straight on the back 9. I'm definitely loving mine.
I got 2 of them bitches and traded Uggla before the season. that uggla trade kinda worked for everybody. brian got soto, i got uggla, you got wainwright. obviously wainwright is hurt, but they've all been good when healthy. though i'd maybe trade uggla for soto at this point since towles has been worthless. I'll bet Towles mashes this go around. Houston needs him to do exactly that. Soto just barely went over 50 at bats last year, so he burned a year also. But, I do like the rule going forward. It sucks to have a September call up get 5 to 10 at bats and lose a year of eligibility. Heck, Soto is a perfect example. Without that rule, he wouldn't be exempt after this season since he had like 1 at bat one season and 14 the next to go along with his 50+ last year.
My team has been a major disappointment and I don't want to talk about it. :bye: Seriously, I'm speechless with how this team is currently sporting a 7-6 record with a very good possibility of being .500 after this week ends. A lot of underachievers, disappointing performances and injuries have turned a potential powerhouse into a threat to miss the playoffs entirely.
It seems like I have a ridiculous hole on every round. Last week was a classic example. I'm on a par 3 hole that's about 130 yards out. There is a small opening over a creek with tall trees lined up on the right. I shank my 9 iron over onto the next tee box way right. There is virtually no possible way to get on the green from here as the trees are too thick and too tall to go through or over. What do I do? I follow up my shanked tee shot by topping the ball badly. The ball worm burns its way under the bridge that crosses over to the green hits a rock and caroms right onto the green for a par. Needless to say, my golf buddies laughed rather hysterically at my rather unique par. A par looks the same on the score card, so I quickly came to terms with it. My damn irons still haven't arrived, so as a reward for my tremendous patience, I went and bought a new Taylor Made R7 Driver, 3W and 5W. My new woods are very eager to meet my new irons.
I'm perfectly fine with Soto, DeRosa and Theriot batting 6-8. Add in a pinch hitter for an at bat or two late in games, and Soriano will have lots of guys to drive in at the top of the order. Plus, Theriot can run like crazy all he wants in the 8 hole.
If you had any confidence in him continuing that production, there's no way you'd look to trade him! well, it would obviously depend on what i was getting in return. it's getting to the point now where there aren't many SP's that i would give him up for in a 1-for-1 deal. it's not like i'm going to take randy wolf or somebody in return for him. If I had Randy Wolf, I'd probably offer him up for Danks.
My keeper list should be pretty solid as well. Brandon Webb James Shields Kelvim Escobar Max Scherzer/Aaron Laffey/Ubaldo Jimenez/Carlos Carrasco/Carlos Marmol Matt Holliday Ryan Braun Geovany Soto Jacoby Ellsbury Stephen Drew Alexei Ramirez/Carlos Gonzalez/Ian Stewart With the potential to also keep one of Rickie Weeks, Vernon Wells, Carlos Pena, Javier Vasquez or Milton Bradley since my only non exempt players are Webb, Holliday and Escobar (who has yet to pitch this year). We'll just call it an open try out. However, I am really starting to like what Alexei Ramirez is doing. I need to find a spot in my line up for him to play regularly. Anyone have interest in Rickie Weeks?
Maybe not, but he plays the weakest position on the roster besides C, as a 2b. Utley, Kinsler, Uggla, Roberts, Phillips, Upton, and Pedroia disagree that 2B is a weak position. DeRosa's 19 points against my team last night also begs to differ.
If a player misses a whole year, the year does not count as an exemption. There are several players that have had this happen, and Juan confirmed this with me when I had Rocco Baldelli. I believe BJ Upton missed a whole year in between trips to the majors, as well.
I just ordered these last week off of Ebay. They are Taylor Made knockoffs. I think they'll be better than my old used set. I'll keep you posted. The price is pretty good. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-2008-IRONS-CUSTOM-OVERSIZE-GOLF-CLUBS-IRON-SET_W0QQitemZ330247268745QQihZ014QQcategoryZ115280QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem By my calculations, they should arrive today, which is good because I have a 3pm tee time today.
