  2. From everything I've seen, the World Series dates are locked in, so it doesn't matter how many games the AL goes. Ohtani will be in line to start game one of the WS. Game one is listed as October 24th.
  3. Shemar Turner got a lot of reps at DE against the Commanders. Anyone know how he was graded out at that position for that game? They are getting Booker back on Sunday, also. Tanoh Kpassagnon was removed from the roster to make room for Booker. It would be nice to see more production from the 2025 draft in this one.
  4. Yep. The big red flag on Santos has been distance. So many times they would opt to punt at a distance just about every other team is going for 3. And with the new starting distances, more and more often offenses will stall within field goal range than ever before. While I think it's time to move on from Santos, I'm not so sure Moody is the guy you do that with. His accuracy hasn't been very good in the past.
  5. Sure would be nice to see Loveland have a first round pick level game. Thought it was going to happen last week, but after the "push off" he went silent for the most part. Looking like maybe no DJ this week, so Burden is likely the next man up to spread the field with Odunze and Zaccheus.
  6. That's what I was looking for. Gonna have to try to watch it again sometime today. Was up at 1am to get my wife to the airport. Got through most of the first period before I ran out of gas. So, St. Louis has had two home games. First one was a shut out and the second one was a football score. Gotta love it.
  7. But why Cease? I just don't see anything in his peripherals that make him a desirable choice. I'd take any of the current Cubs starters (Steele, Horton, Boyd, Imanaga, Taillon) over Cease as rotation options. If you are adding someone, get someone who is significantly better than the aforementioned.
  8. I feel like the game plan this week will be similar to the Washington game. Rattler likes to throw it, has two legitimate receivers in Shaheed and Olave, and he likes to take off running like Daniels. If the Bears give Rattler time to throw deep, they could reel off some big plays against our defense.
  9. Dylan Cease had a horrible year and I don't know why his name keeps coming up in discussions.
  10. Exactly. It changed the momentum. But, Sweat did look to purposely whack Daniels in the head, so I'm not really counting that one as a bad call.
  11. Life of a kicker. Santos has been fired before, also. He was the Chiefs kicker to start his career and he's kicked for 5 different teams, including one other time as a Bear back in 2017 (I don't even remember that). He's got a job still because he's been pretty accurate, even at lengthy distances, although most of the time he can't be trusted to even try from NFL long distances. His longest field goal ever is 55 yards.
  12. Ahhh. That's the part I've been missing. Had the sound for the Bears game on so I couldn't hear the explanation. I thought they were somehow counting the non catch in the outfield as a catch. I saw Contreras running towards third, but I don't recall seeing him actually run all the way to 3rd. I thought he was chasing someone back.
  13. There was a short out route for a catch and a 2 or 3 yard gain late in the game and right in the middle of the picture is someone with their straight arm bending Odunze's head straight back and it was like that for the entire length of the play. The most obvious illegal hands to the face penalty of all time, and it's forever burned into the tv screen, but the officials couldn't be bothered to call it. I can handle some bad calls. But where are the make up calls or the calls that balance it out? I saw plenty of holding from the DC OLine that could have called back plays for gains. It's almost as if there was some bias from these judges. I'd send the tape in and ask WTF. That penalty on the td should never be called. That penalty wasn't even a thing until last year. Making up new lame penalties is not what the sports world wants.
  14. Didn’t the ball hit the yellow on the wall? Grand slam?
  15. Geno Smith may die a horrific sack today.
  16. 22 plays, 32 total yards, 2 yards passing. Jets first half. Fields is actually 5-7 for 2 yards. 2 first downs and two field goals. Field goals happened from a Denver fumble in their own territory and a long kick return.
  17. Jets putting on an offensive clinic in London. The clinic is on how not to run a 2 minute drill.
  18. Benedet seems to be getting the nod at the other Tackle position. Edwards, Gordon, Brisker and Booker should be all good to go Monday night. Only missing Jarrett and Jaylon Johnson (and Terrel Smith) on the defensive side of things.
  19. That game was painful to watch in between pitches of the Cubs game. Every time I looked at the screen the Hawks were short handed. Some of those tripping calls seemed pretty ticky tack.
  20. Tucker’s next contract just keeps getting smaller and smaller.
  21. I don't know if I actually heard this in the crowd noise at some point, but now I can't get...... "Buschhhhhh (instead of Whoomp), There It Is" out of my head each time he does something significant,
  22. Yea, not seeing anyone clamoring for Shota in Milwaukee. I think he might be a fine game 1 starter in LA if they win today. I think it would be a horrible idea to start off the LA series on short rest for the top starters once again. LA does have plenty of pop in the line up, but LA isn't as homer friendly as Milwaukee. Retool with Shota in game 1 in LA, then follow up with Boyd, Taillon or vice versa and Horton if he can be counted on. If Shota does well, you can slate him for another game. Collin Rea to start tonight with one of Brown or Civale following to get them to the main bullpen arms. Keep the season alive!
  23. Cubs win today or baseball season is over for me. Won't watch the Brewers or the Dodgers.
  24. Actually had NHL, MLB, NFL and NBA on my wall of tv's last night, so that was fun. Didn't have the sound on for the Hawks game, but they sure left a lot of pucks sitting around the crease way too long last night. I think two of the goals were from pucks just sitting there and the Bruins getting to them before the Hawks did.
