Too early to bring it up now, but Hawks could certainly be buyers at the trade deadline. They have 5 picks in the first two rounds and 15m under the cap and over 50m available next year.

My assumption was that they would activate him before the deadline to IR if it came down to it. I'm just not expecting him to be ready at all this week, and maybe not next week. I certainly don't want them rushing him back before he's ready.

He's likely not going to be available for the next 3 or 4 weeks. He's not even close to being in football shape.

Looked like crap most of the game? What game were you watching? That game was fun from beginning to end. They played a very good team and matched them most of the way. Dillon was putting tons of hits on Bedard and the Hawks retaliated quite nicely. Lafferty almost broke their goalie Markstrom in half on his goal. Bertuzzi is playing like a man possessed on both ends of the ice.

Duvernay was specifically signed to do that job, but Burden has lined up next to him many times, and has 8 kick returns of his own.

Meanwhile, he became only the second player in NBA history (MJ) to have 40 points, double digit rebounds and assists and 5 steals in a game.

It was announced early in the game that the wind conditions were not favorable for kicks of any length. Pre-game kicks were sailing in every direction other than between the uprights. Both teams knew it and avoided long field goal attempts. Oh, and don't we all hate Santos?

Soderblom with a hell of a game. I thought for sure he'd give up a goal during the 4:00 penalty in the 2nd period. I'll have to re-watch this game since it was on at the same time as the Bears. I missed most of the action.

That last goal was perfection from the moment Bedard stole the puck.

It was a weird game. It seemed windy enough to cause havoc with the passing game, but I saw a lot of passes placed exactly where the QB intended. Both teams seemed to scheme a very plain and boring offense (maybe because of the stiff breeze) and it was exactly what they got.

It's hilarious that he's more concerned about collecting keepsakes than blocking shots these days. LOL

We haven't seen what the Bulls look like with all of their key components. I can't imagine Coby will make them worse than what they have shown us so far. Collins may just be another guy and may or may not improve the team by being healthy, but Rose has a lot of speed, and this team has been doing a lot of good things with speed. Ayo wasn't in that game against the 76ers, so they beat them without Ayo, Coby and Zack. I really don't know where they fall in the big picture, but they appear to be better than a play in team. They will be fun to watch all year.

I read somewhere that Shota wants to go back to Japan, but I wouldn't put much weight into what I read. I can't even remember where I saw it. Seems like the Cubs gambled that Shota would pick up his player option and they lost that gamble. But it had to be a gamble they were willing to make. That or they already knew he wants to go home and these two moves opens that door.

It benefits them because they don't have any bodies to play the position. Shemar Turner is out. Dayo is out. Robinson is questionable this Sunday. You need someone. Other than pillaging a practice squad here or there, they had to do something. If they don't make some move, I don't know squat about this guy, but he is a warm body that can at least give either Sweat or Booker a few breathers on the bench between pass plays. Booker is probably not even in the best playing shape he needs to be in right now since he's been out the whole year. As Jersey pointed out, Poles can't really be trusted to make a big move, so this is about the least damaging trade he could have done. This team isn't challenging for a Super Bowl this year no matter what. Better to hang on to the good draft picks for now.

He was on Donato's line and he looked amazingly fast. Got some good shots off in his first action of the season in the NHL. I hope he sticks when Dickinson comes back. They might need to rearrange some of these lines to create better scoring opps. Last night was pretty rough. Plenty of shots on goal, just not really that many good looks.

Not that it needs more confirmation, but I didn't see OPI on the Higgins TD. I saw Wright attempting to gain the best position to intercept that ball, and Higgins made an amazing adjustment to regain the best position to catch the ball. Weird looking play in general, but I felt Wright made a great attempt to win that play, but was unlucky against a very crafty receiver.

Dayo may be doing things that don't show up on the stats page, but I don't know what they are. If I recall correctly, DE was considered the biggest offseason need and they completely ignored it in FA and the draft.

The play at the end of the game to Loveland is the type of play Caleb should be having all day long. He's got nearly as explosive of a WR room as Cincinnati and he's still not seeing those plays. Way too many missed open receivers in his progressions. Ben is working on this. Once he does start hitting those receivers in stride on the regular, look out. The one other thing about Loveland's catch is he was WIDE open, and Caleb only seems to see those types of plays develop, rather than the guy who is just about to break his route. That and seeing the whole field in real time is what we need next. The concern right now is these are pretty soft defenses that he's faced so far. Hopefully more of the pieces come together in the Giants game, because the training wheels will be off after that. Side note on Cam Ward: To be fair, Caleb was not drafted by the worst team in the NFL. Carolina traded that pick to the Bears. Cam is like many 1.1's in that he doesn't have much to work with because he was drafted by the WORST team in the league. So it's not really fair to make any kind of assessments as to what he's shown so far. Outside of Calvin Ridley (who is hurt more often than he's not), you can't name a Tenn. WR. Dude is leading the league in getting sacked, also. And if that isn't bad enough, look at Cam's opponents (in order) to start this season: Denver, LA Rams, Colts, Texans, Cardinals, Raiders, Patriots, Colts and Chargers. Brutal for a rookie QB. I'm not an advocate by any means, but he's had a tough go so far.

This team is moving the ball around like crazy. They are actually quite fun to watch. Vuc actually seems like an asset with Demar and Zach gone. His give and goes and vice versa are working really well with this young group of players. I thought Vuc needed to be gone too, but he's fitting well. Ayo is playing like a man possessed.

Spurs will be even better once De'Aaron Fox takes to the court. He's injured a lot, but damn good when he is on the floor.

I do like that kid on the practice squad. I'm assuming he'll be called up and will likely be the backup RB. I'm not sure Homer is anything more than a blocker/ST guy at this point. Relying on him for carries out of the backfield would not be pretty.
