  1. I feel like the game plan this week will be similar to the Washington game. Rattler likes to throw it, has two legitimate receivers in Shaheed and Olave, and he likes to take off running like Daniels. If the Bears give Rattler time to throw deep, they could reel off some big plays against our defense.
  2. Dylan Cease had a horrible year and I don't know why his name keeps coming up in discussions.
  3. Exactly. It changed the momentum. But, Sweat did look to purposely whack Daniels in the head, so I'm not really counting that one as a bad call.
  4. Life of a kicker. Santos has been fired before, also. He was the Chiefs kicker to start his career and he's kicked for 5 different teams, including one other time as a Bear back in 2017 (I don't even remember that). He's got a job still because he's been pretty accurate, even at lengthy distances, although most of the time he can't be trusted to even try from NFL long distances. His longest field goal ever is 55 yards.
  5. Ahhh. That's the part I've been missing. Had the sound for the Bears game on so I couldn't hear the explanation. I thought they were somehow counting the non catch in the outfield as a catch. I saw Contreras running towards third, but I don't recall seeing him actually run all the way to 3rd. I thought he was chasing someone back.
  6. There was a short out route for a catch and a 2 or 3 yard gain late in the game and right in the middle of the picture is someone with their straight arm bending Odunze's head straight back and it was like that for the entire length of the play. The most obvious illegal hands to the face penalty of all time, and it's forever burned into the tv screen, but the officials couldn't be bothered to call it. I can handle some bad calls. But where are the make up calls or the calls that balance it out? I saw plenty of holding from the DC OLine that could have called back plays for gains. It's almost as if there was some bias from these judges. I'd send the tape in and ask WTF. That penalty on the td should never be called. That penalty wasn't even a thing until last year. Making up new lame penalties is not what the sports world wants.
  7. Didn’t the ball hit the yellow on the wall? Grand slam?
  8. Geno Smith may die a horrific sack today.
  9. 22 plays, 32 total yards, 2 yards passing. Jets first half. Fields is actually 5-7 for 2 yards. 2 first downs and two field goals. Field goals happened from a Denver fumble in their own territory and a long kick return.
  10. Jets putting on an offensive clinic in London. The clinic is on how not to run a 2 minute drill.
  11. Benedet seems to be getting the nod at the other Tackle position. Edwards, Gordon, Brisker and Booker should be all good to go Monday night. Only missing Jarrett and Jaylon Johnson (and Terrel Smith) on the defensive side of things.
  12. That game was painful to watch in between pitches of the Cubs game. Every time I looked at the screen the Hawks were short handed. Some of those tripping calls seemed pretty ticky tack.
  13. Tucker’s next contract just keeps getting smaller and smaller.
  14. I don't know if I actually heard this in the crowd noise at some point, but now I can't get...... "Buschhhhhh (instead of Whoomp), There It Is" out of my head each time he does something significant,
  15. Yea, not seeing anyone clamoring for Shota in Milwaukee. I think he might be a fine game 1 starter in LA if they win today. I think it would be a horrible idea to start off the LA series on short rest for the top starters once again. LA does have plenty of pop in the line up, but LA isn't as homer friendly as Milwaukee. Retool with Shota in game 1 in LA, then follow up with Boyd, Taillon or vice versa and Horton if he can be counted on. If Shota does well, you can slate him for another game. Collin Rea to start tonight with one of Brown or Civale following to get them to the main bullpen arms. Keep the season alive!
  16. Cubs win today or baseball season is over for me. Won't watch the Brewers or the Dodgers.
  17. Actually had NHL, MLB, NFL and NBA on my wall of tv's last night, so that was fun. Didn't have the sound on for the Hawks game, but they sure left a lot of pucks sitting around the crease way too long last night. I think two of the goals were from pucks just sitting there and the Bruins getting to them before the Hawks did.
  18. While I'm on record as wanting a Rea, Boyd, Taillon, Imanaga rotation for this series, I'm curious if you know how many games the pitching staff would have won in any of the playoff matchups through these first two series if the Cubs only scored one run. The Cubs bats aren't doing enough to win games. The Cubs were never going to get "perfect" with the remnants and duct tape of the current rotation. And while I am on record as wanting a different rotation, we don't really know whether that rotation would have had better results.
  19. It was probably a better fit for Journey, another San Fran band and possibly not around anymore when the next Super Bowl in San Fran happens. Frankly, I don't care one bit who performs at the Super Bowl. I can just as easily turn down the volume and turn up my own music during the Super Bowl. It's really not that hard to do. Journey could come out and do a medley of several of their hits, then for the last couple of songs they can bring out Steve Perry to perform those.
  20. While I would rather see Shota pitching at home, I don't think you can just do a bullpen game when you are already down 1-0 in the series. If they would have gone with Rea or Assad in game 1, then Boyd on normal rest in game 2 and Taillon in game 3 and Shota in game 4 and Boyd in game 5 (if necessary) was the way I would have lined them up. But, luckily for all of you, I'm not the manager. At this point, you have to hope Shota has something left or something to prove and let the dice fall where they may.
  21. Just realized that Arizona was my suicide pick this week. Grr.
  22. There was 12:51 remaining in the 4th quarter when DeMercado rushed for 71 yards and then flipped the ball at the half yard line and the ball was fumbled out of the back of the end zone. That TD would have made it 28 to 6. They then proceeded to lose the game 22-21. Hahahahaha!
  23. Cardinals trying to have one of the greatest choke jobs ever, starting with a fumble at the half yard line by flipping the ball b4 actually crossing the goal line.
  24. This is where I was prior to the announcement of the first starter and afterwards, and it's in print somewhere here as proof. However, I will acknowledge there weren't many positive alternatives. My main thing was get the main quality innings eaters the necessary rest. Boyd is already 100IP above anything he's done the last 3 years. Rea and Assad (I would have put him on the roster for this series) have way less abuse on their arms for the season even if they were also on short rest. Peralta was likely winning game one without a gem by the Cubs pitching staff anyway. So I felt like maybe getting Boyd rest to go in game 2 made more sense than sticking him back out there on short rest. Rea had only surrendered 1 run in his last 13 innings as a starter during the regular season and a 2.63 ERA for the months of Sept./Oct. Sure, we weren't happy that he was signed to a deal in the first place, but again, maybe reward his fine end of season work with a game 1 start against a very difficult opponent. Civale ended up shutting the Brewers down for more than 4 innings. Maybe Rea does the same thing and game 1 has a completely different outcome.
